Flooding

Oh dear, there is a severe risk of flooding around the Gloucester area tonight! There has been torrential rain over the past few weeks, and then tonight there is a tide expected up the Severn, the so called Severn Bore, of up to a metre high........ :o

We will be ok up here, we are on a higher part of the city, and it didn't flood up here in 2007, so we are very unlikey to be affected! Maisemore will almost certainly flood badly overnight as they have a red warning, and between the north of the city and Tewkesbury there is a yellow warning making it very likely........

I feel so sorry for people whose homes flood, it must be horrendous :( :o :(

I do hope that it's just a matter of the weather people being over-cautious but, of course, with all of the rain that's fallen recently... :(
It must be really horrible to be flooded, is your mother in law a distance from the at risk areas?

Bad here too, like you Kaz we're ok but the floodgates have been closed down on the quay; the warning stretches right along the coast from here to Swanage!

My MIL will be ok too, she's not as high as we are but she didn't flood in 2007 so won't this time. She was without power and (ironically) water that time, but didn't flood.......

Yes lots of warning all over the place, just been Googling about it

I really feel for any-one who is flooded - we were once and although it wasn't too bad, and we didn't actually lose a lot, it was the drying out that took ages.

And back in Chipping Sdobury, there is a part of town that floods all the time . well, if they will build on low lying land
