That fasting diet thingy

I thought I might give it a go but I need tips.

I don't want to be fafffing about cooking so need to be having quick and easy meals.

The girls go to my mums for dinner on a Thursday so that's a perfect day (though that was also the perfect day for a swim before I pick them up). The other day would be hard as I'd still be cooking a meal for Mick and the girls (he can fend for himself on the Thursday).

I'm not really sure if it's the diet for me but I'll give it a go.

Debih much as I love you I really, really can't be typing it all out all over again...
Go to the Kitchen board, and the websites, and read everything there on the subject - and the book only cost me £2.95 in Tesco ;) :x

My main advice would be that yes, you really do need to bother to count every single calorie - at first.
After 2 or 3 weeks you will have found 2/3/4 meals that work, and you're happy with. So carry on eating them - it's only 2 days a week.
Oh, and don't make the 2 days consecutive, it's too hard. We do Monday & Thursday, but it's whatever works for you.

I've got the book too and am very seriously considering this - once I've got a few weeks of low carb under my belt (no pun intended) to quickly shift the Christmas excess :oops:

Next Monday is D Day for me - I have a big family meal at my MIL's tomorrow and similar at my sister's on Sunday to get through first :shock:

We'll be going out for an end of the holiday meal on Sunday and then that's it :evil:

A friend has lent me the book so I must start looking at it.

We are off to my mums for a big meal tomorrow and after that my healthy eating starts.

I haven't decided about the fasting diet yet - I tried it once before and was so hungry by the end of the day I stuffed myself stupid.

I know that having breakfast and smaller portions will be my best bet. And no alcohol. And more exercise.

God I'm in for a miserable new year. :evil:

Tim struggled with it Deb, he was just too hungry by evening for a tiny dinner. He has breakfast and then eats nothing all day.

LOL Debih me too! Less calories in and more calories out! Simple really, but oh so hard to put into practice :oops: :evil: :lol: :lol:

Mick was the same when I tried him on 5:2 Shell, he couldn't concentrate on his work :shock:

I don't know about that fasting diet thingy, Debih.

I don't believe in dieting, the simple answer is to eat sensibly, plenty of fruit and vegetables
and read the small print on any extras you may be tempted to buy, rejecting anything with a
high fat content, and cutting down on sugary drinks and alcohol. :D

It's surprising how soon you can get used to low fat diet. We only put jam or marmalade on our
breakfast toast - no butter or marge - and that, to us, is now the norm. We still have treats, like
chocolates, but only in small quantities at a time.

Remember - you are what you eat.

Here endeth the first lesson. ;)

I'm going to have a look and the book and see .....

Generally with me it's a case of portion size - I eat far too much. So for me it'll be a case of reducing portions and cutting down(ish)on the alcohol, and then once the body is used to less food I'll try the fast days. But one realistic and achievable step at a time - otherwise I'll give up before I even start.
