I is ready!!!

Yesterday I went to Lidl to do my big shop - I spent just over £60. I had about 6 big bags full of stuff. I spent around £15 on alcohol.

Today I went to Sainsburys after dropping L at school. I spent just over £70 and had 2 big bags and one drinks bag. I spent just over £20 on alcohol.

Sainsburys is soooooo expensive!

I have the last couple of presents to wrap at the weekend the girls tablets will be wrapped on Christmas Eve as I want to charge them up one last time. I have two more presents to deliver tonight to my friend.

My fridge is full to bursting. Much of it is for a meal I am cooking tomorrow. 12 of us in total though the 6 children will eat in the lounge in front of the tv. They are having pizza, garlic bread, chocolate pudding and sweets!

We will be having pate with a green salad, onion marmalade and melba toast (I love melba toast - haven't done it for years), followed by roast leg of lamb with boulangere potatoes (still deciding whether to cook the lamb on top of the potatoes or to do the two separately), creamed parsnips, carrots and cabbage followed by a tiramasu.

I don't need anything else from the shops other than milk which I will pick up on Monday from the local general stores.

I've had to put the bubbly in the shed - I could only get two bottles in!

You are well organised Debi.

No matter how often I think I have done all the food shopping, there is always something I remember at the last minute. This year I am having a delivery on Christmas Eve…….at least I think it is Christmas Eve, must check. I booked is such a long time ago I can't remember. I must go through it this week as I just chucked a few things in the basket to get the delivery slot. I booked Waitrose as they were taking bookings way before the others. My crafty plan was to change it to Tesco or Sainsburys as soon as they opened up the Christmas slots but if I couldn't get one at least I had a delivery coming from somewhere…….. but I forgot :(

Oops Molly - but at least you know it's coming, which is a lot nicer than battling through the shops on Christmas eve :)

Well done Debih - yes we love Lidl too, it's a shame you can't get everything there!
I still need things like cream, the other day it was still all dated Dec 24th
Do you have salad stuff still growing? - I shall need some bags of that...
I love melba toast too :x

Well done Debbie!

I'm going shopping tonight, I'll get the bulk in Aldi and top up in Tesco. It's handy because they're just along the road from each other. I've got to get my hair cut on Monday so I'll get the fresh stuff then, I want to avoid going out to the shops on the 24th if I can help it :)
