Any chance of some VV vibes, (update)

Postby TheOstrich » 14 Dec 2013, 00:41

Just got back from A&E. Mrs O took a tumble off the bottom of the stairs yesterday. We thought she had two bad sprains in each ankle, but by this evening, after constant bed rest, one foot was not "coming right", so we took the decision to seek more expert advice.

The upshot is that X-rays showed she has broken two bones, her tibia and her ankle. So she was admitted to the orthopaedic ward and they will make an assessment tomorrow whether it will be an operation (most likely in the circumstances) or a plaster cast. Swelling needs to subside first.

Such is life! All parties stoical except for Master O who has initially taken it rather badly, so I suspect I'm going to have to administer soothing words here as well as in the hospital ....

Of course, in hindsight, we should have gone to A&E straight away, but hindsight's a glorious thing, isn't it?
