A different day from planned

I'd arranged to meet this woman and her sister this morning.
I'd just sat down after whizzing down to the village for Grumpy, with my coffee and planned a breakfast, then shower and meet them off the 11.41 train.
My phone rang - they were at the station, and it was only 10.00 So changed Gladys and made it down there in 10 minutes
And the lady with her wasn't her sister - plans had changed and although she'd apparently e-mailed me, I still haven't got that e-mail ( ermmmm)
But the lady with her was a lady I was supposed to meet next week anyway and she and I got on really well They had a guided tour of our village and then a stroll up here, met Grumpy and Tom, as he'd turned up, then we went to the Capri for lunch - ladies only. Had such a giggle - and a few beers
Then the heavens opened we were having lunch outside, as you do when you're new in a hot country and Joao got us under the awning, so we had our coffee and Beira (liquer) there. I had to go and buy an umbrella, as it was chucking it down and I'd left mine at home
Grumpy met us at the station, then he and I strolled down to our normal coffee for a beer or four
He's having to have whatever I feel like cooking for dinner - I'm still stuffed from chicken and chips
