Good morning Friday

Morning all. The wind has died right down here, thankfully.
It was very, very windy yesterday. I spent much of the adoption panel meeting watching the towering fern trees outside waving and bending. About five minutes after the meeting finished we heard a huge crack and a bang and a tree came crashing down very close to the building. As we were being evacuated to the main County Hall building another one came down.
Home today pottering around, waiting for the British Gas man to come. We have had no heat or hot water since Wednesday - the boiler is dripping and keeping the pressure down.
I am off to school this afternoon as it is the open afternoon so in my capacity of Chair of Govs I need to be around. We aren't actually expecting anyone (no one has rung to say they are coming anyway) so I shall spend a couple of hours catching up with the head and looking at policies that need updating.
Its their Christmas Fair after school and I was going to stay for it but I need to go and pick L up from school as they are off to my sisters for tea and then onto the local panto.
I'm currently waiting for a phone call from S's head of year. She left me a message yesterday to say that she had spoken to the girls and fed back to S but she would ring me this morning to update as she knew I wasn't available yesterday.
