Sometimes I amaze myself at my own stupidity .....
Ava (one of my cats) is desperate for a manicure and pedicure; she (and two others) often gets her claws stuck on soft things like rugs, bedding etc. This evening she was trying to get off a cat tree in the lounge and somehow managed to get one of her back claws well and truly hooked into the fleecy material that covers it and was struggling to get down. So of course first thing I instinctively did was jump up from the sofa, wine glass in hand, and rush to her rescue.... and doh!!! put the glass onto the cat tree and as I put it down I just knew it's going to fall right over (and it's red wine!). You know that slow motion effect; well that's what happened. So one hand reaches out for Ava whilst the other very unsuccessfully tries to catch the glass and stop the contents from spilling all over the pale cream lounge curtain. Sigh
Managed to get Ava unstuck though, so that counts for something
Cream curtain is now in the wash and I just hope the stain comes out - I've put it on an intensive wash and added Vanish as well as another German stain product (Gallseife). Thankfully the cream lounge carpet which now also sports a delightful red stain is well past sell by date and is being replaced with wood effect flooring early next year
And in the meantime the red stain will sort of match the decorations on the Christmas tree
