I still remember your tale of the baby racoons in the chimney .... and this caught my eye today:

Now this is a very nice pub on the banks of the River Severn at Ombersley, Worcestershire, which Mrs O and I have visited for a meal on more than few occassions, watching the barges go by from the picture windows as we eat. The picture of the pub is taken from the bridge over the river, and just up the road is Broomfields Garden Centre where you can "pick your own" apples and pears in season ... it's a lovely part of our local countryside!

My parents owned a small cottage on a lake in Northern Wisconsin, Ossie and I remember when we were young, the
raccoons always came out after dark. We used to wait for them and toss them marshmallows - which they loved! :P
I've seen one that was tame and used to follow its owner into the local pub. But basically they are wild and shouldn't be thought of a fuzzy pets. Especially if they have a young one in tow. The article has me wondering how it got there, tho.
