Well, I survived the weekend

and for the sake of the person who organised it all (N) I'm very glad I went. When I arrived just after 12.30 on the Saturday she was nearly in tears. I think it was a group of 8 or 9 that were down for the Friday night already and N said she ended up cooking the dinner and breakfast the next morning for everyone and did all the cleaning up and apparently not a single person had offered to help with anything, esp in the evening. M (the hen) apparently noticed and had a word with her friends so some (some more willing than others) mucked in a bit in the morning but still... then not helped that apparently three of the girls got really drunk and stayed up until 4am and proceeded to wake nearly everyone in the house when they went to bed
I just don't get some people. One of them in particular was so astoundingly rude - because of her over excess on the Friday evening she ended up going to bed really early on the Saturday evening (which was meant to be the main event) and then come the next morning after everything had been cleaned away and put away and the house nearly ready for us all to leave (just a few mugs still in use to be washed); she toodles down with an armful of mugs, glasses and plates - dumps them on the counter by the basin and walks off.
If it wasn't for the fact that I know it would have caused quite a bit of upset, esp for M and N, I'd have said something, but I didn't. As they say sometimes - choose your battles. One of the other friends noticed how livid I was and thankfully jumped up and washed up.... gggrrrrrrrrrr There really are not many people I don't like but this one, thankfully she's not part of a circle of friends I'll ever see again
ho hummm. Let's just say I'm glad it's all over
