Do you always....

sit at the same place at the table?

I was just thinking about it (as you do) as I layed the table for dinner tonight.

We always sit in the same place. Our table seats 8 but we only have 6 chairs around it (the other two are stored away). Mick and I sit on one side, Mick sitting nearest the kitchen door. S sits opposite me and L sits inbetween myself and S, at the head of the table!

She has always had the head of the table ever since we got this table - the table has four drawers in it and when L was in a booster seat at the table it wouldn't fit under where the drawers are, hence her having the head of the table!

And that seating arrangement has stuck. The only time it ever changes is at Christmas when no one has the head the of the table (and of when we have people for dinner of course).

Yes we do  It seats 4, I sit at the end nearest the kitchen end of the kitchen diner ( ) Harry sits next to me, Becky opposite him and Mick opposite me. At Christmas or on other occasions when we might need to we pull the table out slightly , and use the extending bit in the middle which makes it a 6-seater, and bring in the two extra seats which we store in the garage 8-)

Oh and the dogs sit under the table - they always have the same seats too :-P

Master O always eats upstairs in his bedroom. Mrs O and I sit at opposite ends of the dining room table when we use it, but that's because as the room is so small, one side of the table is up against the window anyway.

In practice, you're more likely to find us in front of the TV. We always use the same chairs there ......

FUNNILY ENOUGH .... within minutes of posting above, Mrs O called me downstairs to perform the annual ritual of "extending the table for Christmas". We have a 35 y.o. Waring and Gillows' (if you remember that store) Stag dining room table which is basically circular, but extends if you pull the two halves sideways and flip up the hidden extension panels.

So now it's oblong, and my S will sit along one side when she comes over for the Xmas Day meal, and we'll pull it away from the window so Master O can sit on t'other side. This is his only appearance for a meal downstairs in the annual calendar .......

Mrs O is digging out the plain gold tablecloth, which will go well with the red and gold Xmas crackers and the red Xmas serviettes.

Christmas draws ever closer .....

We have a large pine table and always sit in the same places ;)

Unless Bente comes over and she always sits herself in Grumpy's place  , even if I put her where I want her to sit

Yes we do too :)
Bb and I sit opposite each other, the end nearest the kitchen. Youngest will sit next to him and eldest next to me.
When we have others, it's less set, depending on numbers, but I then usually sit on the end, nearest the kitchen.

Ossie I wouldn't feed him if he did that to me ;)
Lol Ton there is 'someone' who always sits on my seat on the sofa - and we do have two

Well just to be different we don't!

Ours seats 12 but we only use half (except at Christmas or parties) and as Jacob tends to lay the table as is his way he seats us all differently every time!

Bit of joker is our Jacob. 8-) :-P

Our table is oval and seats six. He sits at one end, me at the other. We generally only use it for breakfast though, for lunch and dinner I'm afraid it's usually on our laps in the sitting room unless we have guests  We each have our own chair in the sitting room - I can't sit in his, it feels different to mine even though they are two chairs the same
