Back from London

We've walked and walked and walked!!
The Emirates Air Line across the Thames by the Dome is good, very high but very good - you can see for miles! After that we walked from London Bridge station right along the South Bank - we popped into the Tate Modern but it was full of shufflers so didn't even get as far as the first gallery before getting bored and getting out  - and there was a Christmas Market further along the bank, so it was packed and a very slow walk. We crossed the river at Westminster. Blimey, the bridge is full of Romanian con artists fleecing tourists with a cup and ball trick, every few yards there's one and tourists were handing over £20 notes :x We then walked up to Oxford St where I got my ear re-pierced. I'd had three holes in the one but two had closed up a long time ago and I'd been intending getting them re-done for a few years.
Today we've walked miles again, with a few stops for coffee and cake  We went into St Paul's too, I'd never been in before and it wasn't fully open with it being Sunday and services taking place but what an amazing building!!

Shame about the slow shuffle Jo, amazing to be so busy in the middle of November!
St Paul's is just beautiful isn't it, quite takes your breath away :)
Sounds like you had a good weekend :)

Did you go up to the whispering gallery Jo? I went to St Pauls with my mum years ago, it is beautiful

I have been on the Air Line a couple of times, bit scary but good

Glad you had a good time Jo. I must admit that having to put up with the slow dawdlers and street artists on a daily basis who just get in the way when I'm trying to get home does take the charm off it a bit  . The South Bank Christmas Market is now in full swing and I saw this morning that they put up the lights (the blue and white sting lights) on the Royal Festival Hall - that must have been done over the weekend as they weren't there Friday. The South Bank is so pretty this time of year, all lit up.

Just wish the street artists with their totally out of tune trumpeting that is so loud it hurts you ears as you go by would go away!

Sounds like you had a fantastic time Jo. The South Bank area of London is one of my favourite places, we always try to stay somewhere in walking distance when we go up.
