My morning as a lab rat!!

Today was the day when I took part in the research project that I told you about a few weeks ago....some of you might have seen my photo on FB  A lot of it was paper or computer based tests on my memory, reactions and powers of retention and a few of them were tough enough (well, for me anyway!) I had to answer some questions about how I was feeling last week and during the last month, in addition to the comprehensive questionnaire I had answered at home and brought with me. Then she did two EEGs, one with my eyes closed and one with them open :? :?: Unfortunately I don't get to find out how I did compared to others, which I'd love to know, but will get some kind of written feedback in a couple of weeks. Quite honestly I was so tired after our weekend away and still carrying this cursed cold that I could have done without getting up at 7.15am, but I found the whole process very interesting and could actually recognise some areas where I was not as good as other areas - I did very well in the computer related and paper and pencil tests, but not so great in retaining things that were said to me and on which I was then questioned a little while further on. Still, I hope my three hours contributed some little thing to their research into cognitive enhancement and dementia prevention.

It is interesting Osc, and obviously the only way they can build up data on what's normal and how various peoples' brains age/alter differently :)

really interesting.

We are taking part in a child behaviour study at the moment. My hunch is we are in the control group and will receive the training at the end, (next may) just to be fair, meanwhile, im pulling my hair out at times.
