Very sad ending to a lovely evening :(

We had a lovely meal out last night for Mick's birthday, at The Oakwood on the Tewkesbury Road, then we followed Mick's mum home in our car to have a nightcap with her. A very sad sight met us in her living room - little Zoe, Mick's brother's westie, had had a fit and died My MIL was looking after her whilst my BIL and SIL went up to London to watch our nephew take part in the Remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph, as part of his HMS duties. Zoe was very old, almost 15, and had been a little poorly recently but what a shock
Mick and Doreen cleaned her up, wrapped her in towels and we put her in her bed in the conservatory, up on the table
Harry and Becks were very shocked at the sight, but very brave and calm so I was proud of them. My MIL was a Macmillan nurse so used to performing last offices for people, but never for a little dog.........
I made us all a strong cuppa, D rang the inlaws to let them know - they were awfully upset as you can imagine - then when we were sure D was ok we came home.......
Such a sad and upsetting end to a lovely day......RIP little Zoe xxxxxxxx
