Missing chicken

I have just got home from work and gone to shut the girls away and Octavia, my Orpington is missing. I have looked all over the run, and all over the free range bit but no sign. If it had been my Welsummer or Legbar I'd have thought they'd managed to fly over the fence, but Octavia is too big. She bounces everywhere she doesn't take off.

Tim is thinking fox, but surely there would be some feathers and there is nothing, she literally seems to have vanished into thin air.

I am really upset and worried can anyone throw any light or hope?

Oh no
Hope you find her, or find out what's happened. I'd agree, surely there would be feathers, and a fox wouldn't stop at one?

I also think there would be feathers at the very least if it was a fox, and TBH general carnage.................Shell I hope she is ok (((((((((((((x)))))))))))))))

Oh Shell, what a worry :(
I'd also think that if it had been a fox there'd be feathers. I really hope you find her xxx

Oh that's not nice.

Do you think she may just have flapped wings and gone for a little flight?

And yes, if it's a fox, there normally are feathers, at least.

Fingers crossed xxx

Sorry I wanted to get on here, but Tim was doing something for work.

Yes she is back. I went and put a note through all the nearby doors, then thought right one last look. As I flashed my torch round the patio, I shone it behind the pressure washer and there was this pile of black feathers. With my heart in my mouth I said "Octavia" and up popped her little head and beady eyes and she said "bop" So I picked her up, rushed upstairs with her, burst through the bathroom door, and said "Tavia is back in the room" as she had a panic attack flapped out of my arms and nearly ended up in the bath with Tim

What a relief :kick: :kick:
