I'm back !!!

Yes, I'm back - after the wettest holiday I think we've ever had.

But--- we really enjoyed it. Honestly !!!

We did manage to visit a NT stately home one day, and had a few pleasant river-side walks.
The visit to the Arboretum wasn't too bad either but we saw hardly any autumn colours, which is strange for mid-October.

Bridgnorth is a fascinating old town, and we enjoyed exploring it and spent quite a lot of time mooching in the Charity Shops,
as it was good to get out of the rain, and we were able to take Prince in with us. We came back loaded with books, CDs and
jigsaw Puzzles.

We were both surprised that it was all so enjoyable. It's nice to have a change of scenery.

Prince didn't seem to enjoy it much, but he was in a dog's seventh heaven when we arrived back at our Lodge this afternoon,
- back with the old dears who make such a fuss of him.

Hope you are all well.

Welcome home Aggers!
Glad that the weather didn't spoil it for you. Bridgnorth is a lovely town isn't it? Did you see the Hermitage caves and go on the cliff railway?

Welcome home Aggers.

Shame about the weather but I find that by going on holiday at this time of year you have no expectations - other than it being cold and probably wet. When you go away in the "summer" you are always disappointed when it rains. At least in October you expect it.

Lovely to have you back. :D

Yes, it sure is a remarkable old town. We did go on the cliff railway, but we never heard about the Hermitage caves.
There are some lovely old buildings there, some of them built most precariously on the sloping side of the cliff between Low Town and High Town.

They have a vast open-air market there on Saturdays, with bargains galore. You have to get there early though, as the car parks soon get full.
