and i seem to regard her more as a daughter these days
she is 25
its really strange does anybody else feel like that
towards older grandchildren or is it me wishing i had a daughter

This kind of connection can skip a generation I think Saundra - I know Miss Osc had a great relationship with my mother.

Sadly I don't see much of my granddaughter with her living such a long way away, but there is quite a good connection between us that I never had with my daughter. G/daughter seems much more like me in temperament.

We lived with one grandmother (Mum's side) till she died when I was 10, but I never felt I knew her at all.
The other one I only saw 2 or 3 times a year but would happily go and stay with her for the week even when I was 15 or 16, we got on really well

I didn't get on terribly well with my mum - she always seemed to be annoyed or disappointed with me for some reason - but Becky and I have a terrific relationship, and I am very glad about that. Although it does bring it home to me just how rocky the relationship really was with my own mum, which makes me a bit sad

I would love grandchildren!

My eldest granddaughter (Tonicha) and I often chat on fb and now the eldest grandson is now allowed to use it, we often have chats.

But Tonicha and I have always got on well.

I loved my maternal grandmother, she was such a lovely and gentle lady. I only knew her and my grandad (her husband) and he was pretty lovely too xx

I feel exactly the same as you do about my oldest Grandson. From the moment he was born and I held him when he was minutes old he felt like my son and he still does. He's nineteen and we go clothes shopping together, he comes round for catch-up personal chats and we understand each other's thinking.

It is a strange but wonderful feeling Saundra and an unexpected bonus.

Sadly I have blocked my granddaughter in the States from my Facebook page, we had only managed to find each other's Facebook page lat week, and I was so looking forward to communicating rather than by our usual method email and telephone however I was shocked reading her Facebook page and I told her and her and my daughter in law so, stating I was blocking her and would not tolerate such foul language.
What is it with the younger generation (not all of them) who seem to think foul language is acceptable in today's society,
I feel very disappointed.

I blocked my friend's son on fb Kate as I could not believe my eyes at the language he used.

Absolutely vile.

I blocked a old neighbours son
Got was the only way I could ask. If his mum was ok
And his obscene jokes were shocking
