Not sure if we'll get a chance to meet her Saundra, the venue is the biggest of the festival and huge, but it would be nice and I'm taking my copy of her latest book just in case we get an autograph opportunity - it's a big book so I'll need to take a big handbag

Getting paid is good Ton! :D :kick:

Morning all :D Bright and breezy here today, Jasper will love it :D
I want to finish my trousers today and do a bit of shopping. I think I might just pop up to the village shop.
Going to a milonga tonight with some friends. It won't be the same without Dancing Dave, but it should still be fun.
Have a good day everyone xxx

Morning :)
Lovely and bright and sunny here but blowing a gale! Rain coming later apparently.

Bb's gas ball has finally gone :D He still can't see properly; trouble is, he will need a new prescription but isn't supposed to do that until after his next hospital appointment. We'll see, he's hoping it will improve over the next few days.
A lovely loaf has come out of the breadmaker. so later I'll get to try the slicer thingy :)

Good blast of h-word needed here, I'd intended a bit of gardening but the wind's a bit too strong, never mind the rain coming.
Oh and have to take some of Bb's work stuff to the post office, and a bit of shopping...nowt exciting.

Enjoy Phillipa Kaz, I'm sure it will be interesting to see the festival anyway, even if you don't get to actually meet her. And Mick coming home too :D
Lissie are you quite sure he's eight? :D Happy birthday to him :)
Hope everyone enjoys their day

PS Loz Minnie absolutely loves it when it's really windy, she and Bb have just gone out :)

Morning all. It's horrific here - the rain is lashing and the wind is howling.

I had an early start - 5am - as the rain was keeping me awake so I thought I may as well get up. I did my ironing and got a loaf of bread underway. It is now in the oven.

Mick took S and her friend to school and I took L and her friends to save them all getting soaked. Then I took the dog out and slipped flat on my backside at the muddiest part of the hill down from the fields. I was absolutely filthy.

Then when I was walking down the lane, through the wooded part of the lane, a branch came crashing down in front of me from one of the big trees. It completely covered the lane and really did narrowly miss me. Fortunately, it was quite a thin (though very long) branch and me and one the neighbours managed to haul it off the lane so cars could get past.

Off out later to the primary school harvest festival. I can't be bothered really, now I have no children there, but as chair of governors I have to say a thank you to the staff so I need to go. Then off to pick up L to take her to the opticians to have her glasses looked at as she says they are rubbing her.

Then drop her off at my parents as they are staying there tonight as we have our fancy dress surprise birthday meal. I'm really looking forward to that. And the nice long lie in in the morning. I might even leave the dog with my parents so we don't have to get up to let her out!
