Tonights dinner

Postby debih » 28 Sep 2013, 20:25

was a minced beef and onion plate pie with potatoes, carrots and cabbage.

And all made from scratch by S.

She made the pastry, cooked the mince and onions, made up and baked the plate pie and did all the veg. It was gorgeous - really lovely pastry. Not bad for a 13 year old.

L was going to make chocolate swirl meringues but she is full of cold bless her and snuggled straight down on the sofa when we got back from riding. She was fine when we went - a little snuffly - but bang, it just seemed to hit her on the way home.

Well done S! :D

My Saturday cook aka Tom was out with friends and as I was feeling rough with the dregs of a cold, it was a chippy tea for me, John and Joe - I did slice a lovely fresh crusty loaf from Tesco though so we could have chip butties :-P

Hope L feels better soon!

Good for her Debih :D
It was when I was 13 that Mum was in hospital for several weeks so that's when I learnt to cook whole meals, as opposed to a cake, batch of scones, things on toast, etc :)

Edited to add, we had h/m pizzas :D Yummy scrummy. both had tomato sauce with a little chilli, red onion, red pepper and mozzarella. He had chorizo and serrano ham, I had anchovies and black olives with a few capers :)

Sounds lovely :) We had lunch out so 'dinner' was crusty bread with either cheese or ham, pickles etc and a chunk of my apple cake 8-)
