Vibes please - Buster's at the hospital

Okay, so hindsight's a wonderful thing, we should have cancelled the vet appointment and I should have driven him to the eye clinic...
Yesterday Bb had a funny thing happen to his eye; it was as if it had smoke across it (only to him), then that cleared and he had millions of black dots. Neither of us is the type to panic; I googled, it looked like it was a tear in the retina, nowhere did it suggest it was an emergency, and it usually gradually goes away.
Again not being silly, he did go straight to the gp today, who phoned and got him an appointment at the eye casualty unit in Southampton at 2,15.
He's just phoned - two tears in the retina, one large. He has to have it operated on right now or he could lose the eye They usually use laser but the tear's too big.
He can be collected after 6.30. I've just phoned his mum who will come over and drive me up, then I'll drive Bb and I back (in the car that's at the hospital).
A few vibes would be much appreciated.
