Yes, there were some memorable characters in the earlier series like Wesley with his inventions in the shed, Edie (Thora Hird) as his wife, Eli, the one who was very hard of sight, and the "Ladies" tea-drinking ..... :lol: :lol: :lol:

I never, ever understood why people found it funny.
