What would you do if...

...you dropped a whole opened packet of bacon and every single slice seemed to take delight in getting to know the floor tiles intimately?

a) Put the lot in the bin

b) Rinse the rashers, pat them dry and start whistling a merry tune and pretend it never happened.

This just reminded me.

We'd only been living in Spain about 2 weeks and I'd bought a chicken from Mercadona as you do.

Unwrapped the chicken and its freaking neck plopped out from whence it had been tucked in, swung down and touched me on the hand.

I got such a fright I shrieked, threw the chicken right up into the air and it dive bombed with a thunk onto the floor.

I peeped into the lounge..none of my lot had heard a thing..put my rubber gloves on, picked the chicken up, rinsed it, dried it and bunged it in the oven.

The family were halfway through their dinner before they noticed I was only having a cheese sandwich!

I think you know my answer too - especially as I don't eat bacon!

I'd cut out the middle man and go straight to the pan.... I can't whistle.

I mean the heat of the pan will kill any bugs..... won't it? Surely it will. Has to.
