Hellooooo
We drove back late last night instead of first thing today - the Dawlish Air Show is on and the roads would have been shocking I reckon
Well the weather was very kind to us, just the odd shower on Sunday but otherwise sunny and gorgeous. The cottage was fab, really old (Tudor) with tons of history. Called Lobster Cottage, there was a challenge set in the visitors' book to find all 16 lobsters dotted about the place. There were lobster ornaments, stencils on the wall, fridge magnets, etc - I got to 15 and the last one was driving me mad, but I finally spotted the tiny plastic lobster hiding in the spider plant high up on the kitchen wall Everyone banged their heads on the beams except me - there are advantages in being the shortest LOL :P
We walked a fair bit every day, the pedometer app on B's phone counted just over 40 miles for the week so roughly 5 miles a day Good job really as we stuffed ourselves silly
We took the Bay Boat trip on Monday from the River Beach in Teignmouth round Babbacombe Bay - that was fabulous, we all thought that was the highlight of the week Tuesday we went to Becky Falls again up on Dartmoor, Wednesday we tried the coastal path to Dawlish - wow that was tricky, very hilly but fab views - then got the train back to Teignmouth for lunch at the little café by the beach, and then a cuppa with Dools Thursday was a long beach day - I played tennis and cricket with H, it wasn't windy enough for the kite. Friday we just hung out in Teignmouth, shopped a bit, had lunch, had another long walk along the front..........We adored Teignmouth, can you tell
Was a shame Di and I couldn't manage the mini-meet but it would have been an awkward drive for one of us as we were on opposite sides of the Exe estuary and Di only had three full days really.......Maybe next time Was nice to meet up with Dools for a cuppa though
Was a terrific holiday, and maybe the last all together as next year B will be at uni so it was special
Nice to be home though
