Ooops!

The expansion vessel on my boiler was leaking from the joint to the manifold, just the odd drop now and again. Now, I know that I should not be in there, but I am technically experienced enough to put a bit of pipe tape on a joint and tighten it up again. Says he.
So, I turned off the gas, electricity and water and began to unscrew it when I realised that I had forgotten the header tank! Thankfully I had put a bucket under before starting........ drip, drip, drip, drip, whoosh! I was quick enough to screw it back in, but then spent ages doing bucket to window: empty. Swap! Wash up bowl to window: empty. Repeat as necessary.
It's now back together and watertight, but it was close!
