What a nice day we have had, we went to see Grown Ups 2 - new Adam Sandler film, I haven't laughed so much in a long time, it is HILARIOUS!!! It's a 12A which meant I could take Amy, it was fine for her, and she laughed just as much as me!

Amy then bought some clothes for her 'build a bear' - what a price!! I bought her a new school jacket from Trespass - reduced from £45 to £20! Then went to Clarks and got her feet measured, she has been wearing 13.5/1 and is a size 2   OMG!! So new school shoes purchased, she is back to school next Wednesday :D

I have just re-booked her swimming lessons which start next week, and also booked us tickets to see 'help my supply teacher is magic' , its a show on CBBC but the show is part of the Edinburgh Fringe/Festival, we got a flyer for it today and she fancied it, so a wee treat tomorrow :)

Am ready for bed now!!

Hope you have all had a good day

yep Di, she has spent every day with my parents since the end of June when the schools broke up, so I am determined to have fun now....I love it when she is off school, so many parents moan about them being off, but I really like having time with her :D

Sounds like a lot of fun Poll!
I had a shock in Clarks when Joe's feet had gone from a 6 to an 8! And £45 for a pair of shoes! Saying that though he walks a lot in his school shoes and they've never yet worn out or leaked in water so buying cheaper would be false economy.

You're the second person today to say that about Build A Bear. An old friend on Facebook had taken her daughter this morning and said that it was fun but added "HOW MUCH?????"

glad you have had a good school holiday poll
my DIL was having a moan about grabdaughters uniform
she starts high school september
and it was 42 .00 for a blazer and tie
its a strict uniform policy now and girls have to wear trousers not skirts
i agree with build a bear DIL wont allow her two in there now its mad the prices

Goodness me Saundra, Joe needed a new blazer and tie this time and I paid £28 for both (although there was a 5% earlybird discount). There's a private school in town and their blazers, the same make as the one that Joe has to have, cost in excess of £80 in the same shop!!

yes that shop is overly expensive - Amy wasn't pleased as I took her out the shop and explained why I couldn't let her waste her money on another bear - she has about 4 of them from that place and after a few days they are forgotten about - not doing that again! I did let her go back in and choose some clothes for her bears, but still £20 for a few items. Shocking!

I agree Jo, it is a false economy buying cheaper shoes, although I am hearing from people that because Amy is moving over to the other building, seemingly the kids have to wear gym rubbers in class - so I pay £30 for good shoes and she is going to end up wearing £2 rubbers all day - I think I will be contacting the school about this! I buy good shoes to help her feet develop and grow properly, the cheap rubbers are for 30mins at a time - makes me cross!!

Poll that doesn't sound good, what a waste if she's not going to be wearing shoes :? And gym shoes won't offer any protection to little toes either will they?

Saundra, we've only got the one uniform shop too so it serves all schools. When the boys went to their infant school all uniform had to be ordered through the school which was a bit of an inconvenience as it could take 2-3 weeks to get it, and for September you needed to order it in May!
Yes, I hope she doesn't lose it either...Joe's tie went missing two days before the end of term hence the need for a new one
