Long, long day.

Oh what a long day!
We arrived at the hospital at 7.45 and they took Dad straight in. We weren't allowed to wait with him as the waiting area was for patients only so mum and I were in Derby city centre for 8.20. We went for breakfast and then wandered around the shops before heading back to the hospital at 1.30.
We sat and had more coffee before going up to the day op area at 2.30 to be told that he would be ready to go home at about 3.30pm, which was good - when he has been before we have hung around until gone 7pm only to be told that he had to stay in overnight.
No idea how it has gone - he said that they told him it had gone fine and that if it had worked he should start to get some sight back very quickly. But he has to go back again tomorrow to see the consultant so we should know more then.
So another early start tomorrow as he has to be there for 8am again. So I will be up at 5am to take the dog out as she will be home alone again (although hopefully only for the morning). My sister rang to say that the girls could stay with them tonight (they are home from Cambridge) which saves me getting them up at 6am to take them to the mother in laws. Mick is still away so I am home alone again tonight.
I have just got home and am about to head out to take Millie out onto the moor before walking down to the pub to meet up with some friends. I think I might have something to eat at the pub tonight to save me from cooking.
