Bente and Grumpy are having half a chicken each, I'm having a pork steak and we're having a salad, crispy chips (by request  ) and I've also done the black bean thingy.

For afters, I've got a gert lush choccy cake and strawberries and ice-cream :D I've splashed out and bought some of that expensive carte thingy stuff :o

And a large brandy for me, when she's gone home

This: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1167 ... -jambalaya

It was their no.1 recipe for 2011, and I'm not surprised. I'd done a variation of it for years, with chicken on the bone (Portuguese chicken), but have also now done this one goodness knows how many times.
Not many ingredients, always works, very tasty and never get fed up with it - both of us and the boys count it as one of our all-time favourites :)

Jo the only thing I change is the amount of rice, it says 250g. For the 2 of us I only do about 100, but it depends on appetite ;)
Oh and I do buy Fiddes Payne Cajun seasoning, it's not cheap but brilliant stuff, you can sprinkle it on potato wedges, or just mix it with a little oil to coat any kind of chicken :)
Tesco's own isn't bad but I use far more of it so probably not such good value ;)

That looks nice Di, I might try it without the chorizo as I can't eat pork :) 8-)
