When you are on a motorcycle clad in a black leather jacket and gloves, when the Auchan petrol station sign board says 40C it is an exercise in endurance. Thankfully the rest of the journey will be under cloud. Even at 100mph you are just blasted with hot air.

At least the ferry cabin is air conditioned.

This is very true.

However, this morning, on the A3, when a Tractor was holding all the traffic up, it was a breeze to get through it and on up to work...

There are compensations. It really is a temptation to just ditch the jacket, but then driving at 20mph would not get me to the ferry on time.... :-P
