That's me today.

So far this morning I have had 5 text messages off 5 different people all asking me questions about the street party - what time does it start, do I need to take food, do we need to take seats, what time does it end..............

I have nothing to do with the street party. I am not an organiser. I am just going to turn up like everyone else.

So why do people assume that I can give them the answers!!! It is not hard to find out about - it is being organised by the owner of the hotel and a few other villagers so just ring the hotel and ask.

I do know the answers because they are on the invitation that was sent out ages ago to every household in the village. I have also seen the posters that are up all around the village. And I have seen the information on the hotels website. And I got an email from the hotel that gets sent out to most of the village on a monthly basis. Therefore I knew what time to turn up, if I needed to take a chair, if I need to take food, what time it ends because I pay attention to the information around me.

I am being mean and have not answered any of the text messages - I shall just pretend I have not seen them.

What am I - the Oracle?

I have had another text message from someone else now asking me the time it starts. I have turned my phone off.

Debih - they ask you because they know you are efficient, and can be relied upon to give an answer.

We suffer in the same way, and are always being asked things here. It does get a bit too much, sometimes.
