The Cake.
Posted: 19 Jul 2013, 12:09Is finished at last. Some of you will have already seen it as I have been posting my progress on FB. I have done nothing else yet today (although two friends did pop round for coffee so I stopped for a chat) and I am still in my PJ's. 
Here are numbers 1 and 2 about to go in the oven.
All the layers cooled and stacked.
And the finished article - they'll be bouncing off the walls after a slice of that.
And here is what happens when you forget to put the guard on the mixer when it is full of icing sugar......
I am waiting for S to get home from school so we can transport it down to the hotel near where the street party is being held so it can go in their cold storage. L is sharing it with her friend, also called L, as they are both 11 tomorrow.
She will be so pleased as I told her that I couldn't make it - I wasn't that clever - so she is just expecting a Victoria sponge cake with hers and L's name written on. I hope the other L likes it.
