Good morning Friday

Another gorgeous day. Complete blue sky today (we had a cloud yesterday).

Today will be mainly spent baking L's birthday cake. Six (or if I can manage it seven) layers of sponge cake, all different colours of the rainbow - as bright as possible, stacked on top of each other and sandwiched together with butter icing. Then completely cover it with butter icing to hide the rainbow layers. Decorate with jelly beans and Bob's your uncle!!! I then have to wait for S to get home so we can deliver it to the hotel down the road so they can keep it cool for me ready for the street party tomorrow.

I also need to get her presents wrapped.

Last day at school for S today. Quite a strange day. They have no registration - straight into their lesson. Then they have their normal lessons, all at their usual length but only have a 5 minute morning break and a 15 minute lunch break (the kitchen is closed, they all have to take sandwiches) and finish at 2.20pm. It makes no sense to me, particularly as the school announced that those children who catch a normal bus service home (as opposed to one of the school coaches) will either need to be collected or remain at school until 3.30pm as those buses won't be coming early. As the teachers are supposedly in school for CPD days on Monday and Tuesday I just don't understand the logic in not letting the kids have a proper lunch break just so they can get home early!!

Allotment this evening to do the watering - I couldn't find the bit to fit onto the tap last night.

And Mick is home from his Cornwall trip later. Hopefully with some Cornish Rattler.

Debih these half days at the end f term are plain daft, I don't see the point either. H's school breaks up next Wednesday, at lunchtime.....why bother getting them in for half a day? Hope the cake turns out well :)

Have good day in the sunshine everyone, take care xxxxxx

Morning all :D

I am melting saundra  it's hot, hot, hot.

Good luck with the cake debih. Enjoy your day out Ally, you'll definitely need a hat.

Off out early as E wants to see if he can get rid of his scooter. It's been sat in the shed since he retired so it's obviously not likely to be used again. The shop he bought it from has offered to try and sell it for him, it's in great condition and they've been the only ones to service it so fingers crossed.

Hope you all have a sunny day :D

Morning all. Spent all day caring for S. she had her 4 year old immunisation on Wednesday and has gone downhill from then. I've been distracting her as much as possible (trying the power of positive thought) but it all caught up with her yesterday afternoon. She has a huge rash on her upper arm, a fever, sore throat, and is sore all over and very sleepy. The doctor is registering it with the immunisation authority as an adverse reaction. Poor kid. I've been holding her all day and night, last night I ended up sleeping in her bed with her, trying to cool her down. I tell you, at 18kgs, she's no light thing to have in your arms if sitting on you all day.

Hopefully she sleeps better tonight. Her fever doesn't seem as bad.

Hope you all have a better day.
