at a reasonable price. You really think it wouldn't be much to ask for would you?
I have a fairly long front garden and this time of year it's horrid walking up the path in the dark. For the first 3 years I had plain white static Christmas lights along the fence line which worked well. They broke last year and were replaced with blue and white LED's which looked lovely but were really annoying as everytime they came on (set with a timer) they started in one of the multi-function modes and you had to run to the plug and press that little button a few times to get the static setting.
I really didn't like them because of that so this year figured I'd get a rope light, also because it's less Christmassy and can be used without getting funny looks when I'm still using them in November or February
But again... the box says multi-function and static which should have set warning bells ringing but stupidly didn't - I thought you could chose the one or the other (as most boxes just say multifunction). So I got everything in place, tested the lights and set them to static in the hope they would stay that way, but no. Once the timer comes on it looks like I'm planning a disco in my front garden. I've done - admittedly not much - but some googling about and it seems that most of the static only lights are stupid expensive. The lot I have now was from Homebase and cost £20 for a 10m stretch which is OK but most static only ones seem to be around £40 or so. Same for regular Christmas lights - most now-a-days are all multi-effect. Why???? Esp those fast flashing sequences are enough to give anyone a headache
And why can the little switches not be made in such a way that they remember the last setting?
So darn annoying - but I will find my lights!!!!!!!!!!!
