Train trip on my travels!

Yooohooo
After a fantastic four days with my parents I was a bit teary yesterday (so were they) when they dropped me at Queen Street station for part 22 of my epic UK trip.
The journey to Nottingham from that particular station was a new one for me so I was happy to be seeing some different places along the way.
First stop was Edinburgh and as I caught an earlier train than was on my ticket once I got there I realised I had 30 minutes to have a quick scoot round.
I shoved my cases (yes, I have acquired excess baggage..heavy on the excess! ) into a left property locker and walked up the Waverly steps onto Princes Street.
Edinburgh is a beautiful place and I was happily walking along taking photos when I snapped a lovely old clock tower that blatantly pointed out I had 7 minutes to leg it back to the station and get my luggage!!
(I apologise to the Irish and Japanese tourists I shoved out the way to get back! )
Next part of the journey was to York which meant going all down the east coast of Scotland..the views were stunning of the sea.
Tiny little hamlets and such greenery too..truly lovely.
We stopped at Newcastle (cue photos of the Tyne) and Durham.
I've never been to that neck of the woods before so this made the journey extra special.
Got off at Grantham then got a connecting train to Nottingham where Craig was waiting for me.
It was a long old train ride yesterday but well worth it for the scenery and I met some really interesting people too.
I'm flying home tomorrow...the past 2 weeks have left me with some wonderful, wonderful memories of a truly fantastic trip.
