Morning all. 1st July - where has the year gone!!!! Before we know it that big fat man with his red dressing gown and white beard will be coming down our chimneys.............

Gorgeous day here.

Work for this morning and then home to read adoption papers out in the sun.

And that's about my lot today - other than going to the clinic this evening to have my implant changed (the one that helps the aliens keep a track of me).

Lovely sunny morning here, and a clear blue sky - except for a massive cloud of black smoke rising from a few miles away. Looks like a serious fire.

Re the cloud of black smoke...

It is a major fire, at a recycling plant at Smethwick. The BBC Midland News have just described it is the biggest fire West Midlands fire-fighters have ever had to deal with. It's smoke is causing problems at Birmingham Airport.

Aggers, I hope the fire fighters get it under control. How awful.
D arrived in Geneva ok...but not his luggage! When he called last night they still couldn't find it so he was off to buy a few bits and bobs. Hope it has turned up now...all that ironing I did for nothing

Bright and sunny here We finally got the grass cut yesterday so will probably sit outside and enjoy it today.

Oh blimey loz, I hope they find D's luggage soon. I've always dreaded arriving somewhere for a fortnight's holiday and having nothing to wear. Travel sites are always advising carrying a set of spare underwear in hand luggage, think I'll be doing that from now on.

Gorgeous out there and we've only just got up stayed up late to watch the footie

And we only got up, as our neighbour are having their front wall tiled and the noise of the tiles being cut and the wall prepared was enough to get us out of bed, otherwise....

So a quiet day here, doing a stir-fry later - anything apart from a bbq. getting a bit too hot for them now

Good afternoon all. It's dull here, drizzly at times and not that warm.

Before 7.30am I'd had arguments with both boys. Tom has Sixth Form induction today and tomorrow. He needed to leave at 7.45am - John said he'd drop them at school today - but at 7.25 was still prancing around in his dressing gown and then decided he was going to get a shower. I told him no, he wasn't as there wasn't time so off he went to get dressed. Joe then walked into the kitchen and he obviously hadn't washed his hair when he had a shower last night. I marched him upstairs to wash it in the main bathroom basin (which he wasn't happy about), went to get some shampoo out of our bathroom as the stuff in their bathroom had disappeared and the door was locked - Tom was taking a shower.

We can see the smoke here from the fire, the fire service are saying that there's CCTV footage from last night of a Chinese lantern falling into the compound where the fire is.

I hope that Mr Loz's luggage will be with him today. What a nuisance. We always share clothes between cases so that if one goes astray it doesn't mean that one person is without everything but it's not possible if you're travelling alone is it
