The Birmingham Meet .....

Postby TheOstrich » 25 Jun 2013, 16:35

Just got back home after a very happy time at the Meet.

Everyone made it to Birmingham on time, and a group of us initially met outside (the tiny) Starbucks on New Street Station before wandering up to the Old Joint Stock pub/eating house, opposite the Cathedral, where we took over a long table on the balcony for eating, drinking, chatting and wearing fancy clown hats ......

Yes, there are piccies - but not from me, you'll have to wait for those ....

Everyone was in fine form, and it was good to greet old acquaintances, and put faces to names of those VV'ers I'd not met before.

Aggers and I left the gathering around 4:00, but not before Kate had arrived from mid-Wales!

Much laughter and story-telling this evening, without a doubt!!

I must say that it was a most enjoyable experience.

It was lovely putting faces to friends I know but never seen before.

We are indeed fortunate having such charming, interesting and intellegent members.

A day I shall remember for a long time.

Fabulous time. So sad I'm not staying. In my train waiting to go home. Just confirmed that my online friends really are important as my rl friends. Fabulous day and definite new, unexpected bonds made.
