Hubby is in Wellington today, due to fly home tonight..... He's just emailed me this....
If he doesn't make it home tonight, I doubt he will tomorrow either. and as it is a predicted 3 day storm, that means we wont be going to the wedding on Saturday, and the kids wont be having a rare sleep over with there Nana and Poppa. I'm sure he will be home one way or another by then, but I really want him home tonight.
Crossing everything that he manages to fly out before it hits. South Island has been told to expect the worst in 20 years. Wellington is at the southen end of the north island. This storm has come straight from Antartica.
Civil Defence and emergency services are urging New Zealanders to prepare for the worst as a severe storm is due to hit the lower part of the country today. The storm is predicted to bring snow, hail, thunder, driving rain and gales which may impact on travel
