A week ago.....

A week ago I smoked my last cigarette.
I hadn't planned on giving up but a couple of weeks ago I was in a shop buying cigarettes when I saw an e cigarette and thought I would try it.
Over a week, using the e cig, I managed to cut down to 3-4 cigs daily(from 30 a day) and last week just decided to try going a day without a cigarette-that day has now turned into a week and I can't believe it-I never thought I would be able to stop!
Obviously I'm getting my fix of nicotine via vaping ( vapour from e cig) but I am gradually cutting down the strength of the nicotine and, hopefully within a couple of months, I'll be down to the e liquid without any nicotine in it at all.
My brother, who was meant to have stopped smoking, got into the car a few days ago. I asked him if he had still stopped and he said he had. His face was a picture when I told him he was lying as I could smell it from him. I'm amazed at how strong, and nasty, the smell was - I honestly didn't notice it before.
Anyway, I can't say that's me finished smoking for good because I know how easy it is to fall back into the habit, but I'm hoping the e cigarette continues to help keep me away from the smoking.
As an incentive I've decided to pt the money saved away, every day, and to treat myself to something really nice after a month
