I am still here!

I haven't been about much this week - busy, busy, busy.

Monday I was working all morning and then shortlisting for two lots of interviews for school.

Tuesday I was working all day and then helping out at school for a fell race - we sold refreshments to the runners. It was well worth doing (the staff and governors did it, rather than the useless new PTA) - with what we sold and a donation from the organisers we made over £300.

Today I was at head office most of the day and the rest of the day was taken up with going to B&M Bargains, Lidl and Tesco. This evening has been spent in good wife/mother mode.

Tomorrow and Friday are taken up with interviewing at school - until quite late tomorrow. We also want to try and get the new tent up tomorrow night (still not had the weather to try it out yet) as it is the Great Escape camping in the field across from our house. I don't think we will actually be camping as it is far too cold but it is an ideal time to have a go at putting it up.

So rush, rush, rush for me. I have tried to be ultra organised by making the dinner the night before (Sunday I made a beef stew for Monday, Monday I made a lasagne for Tuesday, tonight we were due to have beef burgers and salad as I knew I wasn't busy tonight but I couldn;t be bothered so we had take away), tonight I have roasted a chicken which will do for tomorrow and Friday.

I am off next week so intend on having a whole morning catching up on posts.

So if you've missed me (wishful thinking on my part I know    ) I'm still here - just RL has taken over.

Oh god. Don't. I had forgotten all about that.

I had been trying to con him into thinking that the bag is so big because they haven't packed it away properly.

I am still driving round with the damn thing taking up half my boot. And I drive an estate car!!!!

Yes I got the tent. It is an 8 berth although the people I bought it from said that they wouldn't really put more than 5 in it. Three bedroom pods - 2 x 3 and 1 x 2 but they said more like 2 x 2 and 1 x 1. But she did say that you could park your car in the living area!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We haven't had the time to put it up yet as the weather has been so foul. Then when it was nice last weekend (for about 10 minutes) we were worried that if we put it up it would rain and then we wouldn't get it down for this weekend.

Its the camping on the field opposite our house this weekend so ideal opportunity to put it up. Its highly unlikely that we will sleep in it as its so bloody cold! S is away at a friends on Saturday night but L and I might sleep there. But by not sleeping there it means that I only have to take chairs, bbq, picnic stuff and food and I don't have to bother with all the paraphenalia of blow up beds, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, extra clothes, lights, etc.

Especially when my nice warm bed is only a few yards away. If it is dry we will hang out there and eat there but go home to sleep.

I'm looking forward to next week. A week of doing nothing - other the refereeing between the girls, ferrying them about to various friends houses, glossing all the woodwork in the dining room, horse riding, cinema trip and adoption panel training workshop.

A decidedly quiet week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, having a warm and cosy bed and hot running water so close by is bound to tempt you from your tent

Oh Debih I couldn't forget, I've been so looking forward to this tent reveal :D
The time I went proper camping - for a fortnight, as opposed to just a night or two at a festival, it was in a Big Tent.
Not as big as yours, but that would have been good :)
There were two bedrooms, each enough to sleep 4-5 in sleeping bags, a decent living area plus kitchen space. And yes, a set of shelves, 2-ring cooker, small fridge, the lot.
But that only ever had to be put up once per summer :D The site (in Cornwall) was booked year-on-year for 8 weeks. It was owned by a friend's parents, so each year he and several others would go down in June, set it up and stay a weekend, then whoever wanted to go just had to let them know, it was brilliant :D
