Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 10 Mar 2025, 07:34

Good morning.

It rained solidly from 5pm yesterday and was still going when I went to bed at 11.
Cloudy sunshine forecast today and 18° so not too bad.

We're off to Marbella to meet up with a couple of friends who're over from Edinburgh.
They're staying at the Hard Rock Cafe hotel and I managed to book us a room there for tonight. Mind you, it's been booked since last September.

Really looking forward to spending time with them. :cute:

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

We have a dry morning and a little warmer at 16C. Wet again this afternoon.

Still coughing up nasty gunk, but feel much better. even eating a little more too

The posh car is booked in the new brake pads this morning, or discs, or whatever it's got. I also booked the washing machine arrival for this morning, as I was told delivery between 8 and 10. That changed to 8 till 12 and is now 8 till 2  Which probably means 9.00 tonight

So we'll delivery the car before 9, hope Mario is in and then wait for the phone call.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello you two and everyone; good morning and happy Monday

Ally, have a fab time with your friends. And YAY for the rain :Hi: :Hi:
Jan, good luck with both posh car (posh car really likes attention doesn't it - you should call it Diva     ) Good luck with the washing machine!

After a lovely weekend of what seemed like wall to wall sunshine, woke up this morning to very fine drizzle and damp grass. Huge excitement last night as I had two hedgehogs in the garden; they've finally woken up from hibernation - I'm over the moon!
Not sure what today brings beside the current usual/usual mix of job hunting and pootling. Got a load of washing that ran overnight and needs to be hung up but that's about it.

Have a lovely day everyone! xx

God morning everybody.

It was 16C when I got up. Lovely blue sky with a very bright sun. N sign of rain.

Waiting for the gasengineer to come and service the boiler. Not had any trouble with it.

This afternoon I am going to the library to renew my Blue Badge. I could do itmyself at home but it means transferringthe photo from my pasport and
havinganother photo which is put on the Blue Badge. Much easier if someone else does it at the library.

Wil also finish the ironing. Have still got shirts to do.

Have a good day everybody.

Washing machine arrived :Hi: :Hi:

Working away and I'm a happy bunny as it tells me how long the cycle has left - sad person that I am

Just waiting for that to finish and then we'll take The Diva (love that Ria) to Mario.

Morning all, it’s a nice enough morning here, hazy sunshine but the outside temperature is still only 8c. Edward has headed off to golf and I have mobility class at 11am. We have a parcel due to be delivered by Fastway, not my favourite courier, so I’ll leave a note on the door asking them to leave it in the nail bar. Hopefully I’ll be back before they arrive.

Edward is very interested in music for dancing and has quite a collection, including some by a man called David Read, who is very talented and great at adapting all sorts of music into the correct tempo for particular dances. Yesterday Edward saw on FB that David Read was having an event in the Blackpool Tower ballroom next month. We haven’t been there since 2018, we’ve talked about going but never did it. However, now we had something to arrange it around, added to which there is now a Premier Inn there meaning we didn’t have to find a B&B. So - email sent to David Read to book tickets, flights, hotel and Dublin airport car park all booked and we’re rather excited, going a month from today!

Morning all :D

Nice and bright.

Not much happening here. My cleaner is going to give me a hand with giving the house a blitz. Well, in practice that's Ed with the hoover following me around as I waft my feather duster

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good morning everyone.

Still bright but a bit cooler at 11 °C.

I have just spent two and a half hours trying to find out what my council tax will be this year. The notifications have not arrived and there are just over four weeks before payments are due. The system is a mess and there are no direct numbers to call. Frustrating does not describe it.

The car insurance is also due so that's a big chunk of money going out in the next few weeks.

A bit of belt tightening looks to be in order. At least it will be done for another year.

Enjoy whatever you are doing today. xx

Good afternoon.
Cold and grey here today.
A quick trip to the shops and that will be it, I think.
We haven't had our council tax bill either WM, but our increase is 4.99% so I know roughly what it will be.
Mink have been seen in the Walton nature reserve near us and also up at the village allotments. They are nasty little things and need culling or else there won't be much small wildlife left.
Have a nice day everyone.

We haven't paid council tax since we moved in here. We did have the first three years free - the amount was 32€ for the year - but although I've asked Vitor several times, in Finances, he just shrugs and says that as we don't have any services, we don't pay.

The washing machine plays songs at me - wonder if I can disable that part
