Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 06 Mar 2025, 07:08

Good morning.

Cloudy sunshine again but ok at 19°. :)

Yesterday's home made bread breakfast at Jacob's was delicious. :) Inma had fallen in love with the Irish breakfast and most of the hotels they stayed at the deal included a full one and she absolutely loved Irish butter and had brought four packets home so we had some yesterday on the hot toast. Divine! :D

They had visited Belfast too and loved the Titanic tour.
Thought Galway was stunning.

They were in Dublin for two days and nights too and really enjoyed it.
They obviously had to have a pint of the black stuff in the Temple Bar.

They crammed absolutely loads in the week they were there and I said as much.
Jacob said, " I get it from you mum, you always give it wellie when you visit somewhere. "
Fair enough.

I'm off for my usual walk soon. :)

A neighbour handed in an enormous bag of red peppers the other day so I'm going to cook and freeze a red pepper, lentil and tomato soup and put it into Tupperware dishes. Good job we've got a big spare freezer in the basement.

TV tonight.

Have a great day.

Hope you're feeling much better now Jan. xx

Morning Ally, morning everyone

We have sunshine and a blue sky :Hi: :Hi: All day :Hi: And 19C too.

My head is much better thank you Ally, although head and choobs stuffed with all sorts of gunk  Still got a sore throat but the cough has almost gone.

Off to Castro Verde this morning. For some reason, my card has stopped letting me buy on-line and I really need a washing machine. I don't have a phone that will let me have an app, nor nothing like that, so although Eduardo at the bank has been kind, telling me how to fix it, can't be done. So will pay him a visit and then go to Worten and order a washing machine from there. They'll take away the old one too :D

As long as I feel okay, I'll make a shed load of samosas this afternoon, also some cheese and ham twists, for next weeks coffee morning.

Can't go to Dublin and not have some of the black stuff Ally :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Ally and anybody else who is up.

Only 13C when I got up. But the sun is out and the forecast says it will get warmer.

Ally, I have been to Ireland many times, both for work and on holiday. Have had a few glasses of the black stuff and irish whisky.

Going to town to buy a card. Had a phone call yesterday to say one of my cousins had died. He s my age but has not been well, being in hospital several
times last year as there wasa problem with his blood. Will be going to the funeral.

Have had a letter following my eye test. It says I have some background retinopathy. But I do not nedtreatment, just control my diabetes.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, sun and cloud here and the sun looks a little watery, so maybe this will be the last of our run of lovely weather. We’ll do some dance practice this morning and Kellie will be here this afternoon. At some stage I’ll go and get petrol, we are going to a ball in Dundalk tomorrow night and I don’t want to be filling up when dressed in my finery! I got the ironing all done yesterday so today’s main task is cleaning the shower doors.

Glad Jacob and Imma enjoyed themselves, Ally, personally I think Guinness is quite disgusting.

Morning all :D

Another bright sunny day 8-)

I've given Ed's summer shirts a quick freshen up wash, but that means doing my least favourite job, ironing  will tackle that today. Already exhausted just thinking about it

Nothing else planned, expecting a Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon and that's about it.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good morning all.

It is bright and sunny and we could be heading for 16 °C this afternoon. It could stay like this till well into next week.

Nothing much planned except to go out and get my lottery tickets. I could do with the £104 million predicted to be won.

As for Guinness... with my Irish roots I should like it but it is awful. A good Belgian lager is more me.

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.

Afternoon everyone :)

Ally Jacob is not wrong :D  The soup sounds delish! I have some special freezer bags with flat bases to pour liquids into. Just as well as I can never find the right lid to the right.plastic storage box :cute:  xx

Glad you're finally shaking that off Jan xx

My condolences Cruiser :( xx

Osc I do agree about Guiness, it's horrid :x Mick's brother Jeff brought some zero alcohol Guiness round at Christmas as he knows Mick no longer drinks - M enjoyed it but not me :? :cute:  xx

Oh ugh Jen, that's reminded me about my ironing  ;) xx

Sorry Frank, I just bought the winning ticket. If I win, lunch and drinks at the OC are on me :P  xx

It's another nice day here :) Our usual jaunt to Tesco this morning, and I have Pilates tonight. Towels in the dryer and other washing on the airer in the conservatory, with the door open - dries in no time 8-)

Love to all xxx

Hello all and good evening

I thought I had posted this morning, but alas.... obviously not :?

I don't mind the odd pint of the black stuff; it's just very filling so I can't have more than one. Kaz, apparently the 0% Guinness is meant to be really good
Jan, glad you're feeling a bit better and hope you got the washing machine sorted?
Cruiser - condolences from me also

Hope everyone had a lovely day today?

I had the usual computer morning with this ongoing job hunting :-( Then popped over to a friends house to spend an hour there so their dog could go out and have some company. They're away for a few days and my nephew is dog sitting for them, but he had a long day at college today. Other days he's either away for a few hours only or working on assignments from home.

Have a lovely evening all

We've come inside  A lovely, long day :D

Apparently, I need a smartphone. Eduardo was quite surprised that neither of us had one. He showed me his, how to get the app, blah, blah. Bu without the app, I can't shop on-line. Bugger.

Nope, not buying one. We have two phonnes that work. When one dies, I will buy a smart phone.

Popped into Worten and did it all, in Portuguese :Hi: Not one person in there spoke more than to words of English- Not that I expect them too, but there are an awful lot of English speakers in the area now. I have an LG, mais facil macquina de roupa :Hi: A simple, easy to understand washing machine.

Arriving on Monday morning :Hi:

Popped into Lidl, got a few bits, wanted to go to the new Brichomarche, but Grumpy was being grumpy, so we went home.

And then decided to go for lunch.

Had a lovely, lovely lunch. Stopped at the bar on the way back and David and Rita and then Dominic joined us.

We came home and had a glass or two of wine, in the sun.

Love living here :Hi:
