Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 05 Mar 2025, 08:05

Good morning.

Cloudy sunshine and 20°.

Off for my walk soon. :)

We're going over to Jacob's to have coffee and toast. He messaged us last night to say he'd had his first attempt at making bread and although it tastes nice it's a bit crunchy but is lovely toasted.

We'll pop into Mercadona on the way home for a few bits.

TV tonight including the superb Surgeons. Watching how they do these intricate operations is nothing short of miraculous.

Have a great day.

Morning everyone

Cloudy again and more rain this afternoon.

Head feeling much clearer today. This thing is really hanging on.

Off to Ourique this morning, need to cancel our dinner on Saturday, we have too many walking wounded  and also find a water container fora friend. They're an outrageous price down in the Algarve, they can get them here for 90€, instead of 200€

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good merry morning Ally, Jan and everyone

Oh yum Ally - fresh bread! Need lots of butter on that. And agree re the complex surgeries; totally fascinating.
Jan, my cold took ages to clear, the blocked ears took over 8 weeks! How much for a water container - how big is it? Can it fit in a car?

Another glorious start to the day today; unfortunately I won't be able to spend time outside though. Got a few agency calls again this morning, need to get to a shop and then meeting up with Nadine and another friend around 3pm for a natter and a small bite to eat. Just heard the dulcet tones of my washing machine indicating the bedding has been washed; so about to put that on the line and will then get myself ready for the day.

Have a lovely day everyone x

Good morning everybody.

There was a very bright red sun when I got up but it was only 13C. There is now blue sky and it is getting warmer.

My mother used to bake bread. It was lovely having the fresh crust with butter after it had cooled from the oven. The oven was at the side of the fire in an old
kitchen fireplace. None of the modern gas or electric ovens in those days.

Just a day of tidying up. Am going to send a St Patrick's Day card to America. Have got one from a couple we met several times on cruises.
Had my hair cut in Chorley yesterday. It was a young lady who did it. She did it as I wanted it. Will go there again.

Have a good day everybody.

They're huge Ria. Farmers use them for water for the animals. Burt wants another one to catch rainwater. It will fit in the back of their van, certainly not our car.

Good morning.
A nice spring morning it is too.
I have taken MrsC up to our daughter's. They have taken baby Ethan into our local hospital for a scheduled check up, and afterwards they are being ladies that lunch.
So I'm away to my second home of Sainsbury's in a moment.
we had to buy a hammer yesterday. My son "borrowed" my old one years since. The man in the shop said young people never buy tools, as they always "borrow" their parent's; before admitting that when he cleared his van out he found four of his dad's hammers!
Have a good day all.

Morning all, there’s a lot of cloud around but it’s nice and bright. Edward is busy trying out the steam cleaner we borrowed from Miss Osc, yesterday he did the two footstools and the cushion from his chair which turned out ok. Now he is tackling more of his chair. Considering they have not had anything done to them for 10 years apart from occasional vacuuming and spot cleaning, it was beyond time for a deeper clean. He is being very generous spraying on the solution so the floor is getting washed too ;) I’ll go to the post office to take out some money, drop Edward’s prescription into the chemist on the way. One of the women in the post office has just been on her first ever cruise, so I’ll be interested to hear how she got on. I’d given her quite a few tips before she went as we had been on the same ship last year.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny 8-)

I used to do a lot of baking when the children were all at home, bread, biscuits, cakes, pies etc. It was so much cheaper, and nicer, than shop bought in those days and of course I knew exactly what went into them. Not so these days, cakes and biscuits are so cheap, but I doubt they are as good for you.

We need bananas and more fresh veg so we'll have a trip to the small Tesco. It's so nice today we'll probably detour for a walk along the cliff top on the way back.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Hello everyone :)

Ally, crusty toast! Scrumptious :D I still have my "bag for life" type bag from Mercadona, from our holiday  xx

That's a shame about the meal Jan - and a big difference in the cost of those water containers! xx

Hope the calls go well Ria, so you can relax and enjoy this afternoon xx

Nothing beats freshly baked bread Cruiser. Happy memories :) xx

Crommers, I hope little D's check up went ok. Mick has lots of his dad's old tools :) xx

We love our steam cleaner here Osc, it's particularly good at cleaning the showers 8-) xx

Jen I used to bake a lot when Christopher was a teenager - it was just him and me, and I didn't have a lot of money :) I daren't do it now, as I would eat the lot   xx

Saundra, it makes such a difference :D xx

Another beautiful early spring day here :) Nipped into town for a few bits, then home as D is busy on Wednesdays - she goes to her special exercise class then visits her friend Marion in her care home. We've had soup that I defrosted from the freezer, with focaccia rolls, for lunch. Washing is on, I have bedding to iron, and a sausage casserole on the hob.

Enjoy the rest of your day :) xxx
