Morning everyone

Rather grey this morning and we have more rain forecast.

After two nights rubbish sleep, I had a really good nights sleep last night. Think the brandy helped  Grumpy poured rather a large one ;)

Not a lot going on today. We will have to go into Ourique, as I took a lump of pork out of the freezer, thinking it was pork loin. It was pork, just not the loin, so a stew beckons. I'll pop into the chemist to get something for my ears, as they're now bunged up too

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s overcast here but the sun is due to come out later and there is no rain forecast. We are up early as Kellie is playing in her first competitive football match, up until now all have been friendlies, who arranges a match for 10am  Back to do not a lot, this is our last “free” weekend until Easter as we have something on every weekend until then. DWTSIreland tonight. The worst dancer is still in it, the public keeps voting for him

Good morning.
Cloudy but the sun is trying to get out.
Chicken for us too.
Central Park Cruiser? I went there to watch Trinity a couple of times.
Get well soon Jan, stay on the brandy - it's medicinal!
Osc, Ireland's answer to Ed Balls? I still remember when he almost dropped his partner!
Not much on here. We've managed to find some pictures of my mother and my side of the family. Our daughter wants to have a look.
Have a nice day everyone.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny 8-)

Ed's going to make a start on picking up all the palm leaves in the garden while I'm tackling the spare room. The bed's covered with clothes we will/might take on holiday so it needs a good sort out so we can see if we've missed anything. I always pack too much for a fortnight, this is 6 weeks, but I will have a washing machine, decisions, decisions.......

Roast chicken with veg, followed by raspberry blancmange and jelly for pud. DOI and Call the Midwife this evening.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Morning all (it is here anyway, it’s 6.53am).

We’re off for a look around the Laurel Canyon area this morning, no plans for later. We’ll see where we end up.

Yesterday was a full on and interesting day. We started off with a walk along Hollywood Boulevard to have a nosey at what was being prepped for the Oscars.
It’s not as glamorous as it looks :x
The place where they stars are photographed and interviewed is a large scaffolding and tarpaulin structure in the road
But…because the street was closed for this we had to take the signposted detour through the inners of the theatre where it the ceremony is held and part of that little detour meant that we had to walk on the red carpet :Hi:

From there we went to have a look at the Hollywood Bowl, we thought we’d get a sneaky look from the grounds as it’s in a park but you’re allowed to go in and just sit. It’s was good to see. From there we headed to Hollywood Reservoir, a pretty area with a great view of the sign.

We drove through Beverly Hills. Wow!

It was then time to head to the Warner Bros studios for the tour we’d booked. We’ve done it before, you’re driven around in an open sided bus which holds around 16 people. Bit different yesterday as there was no one else waiting for a bus when we were, probably because I’d booked us into the final time slot of the day, so it was just the two of us and the tour guide so we sat in the front chatting with him. He took us into a couple of closed sets in sound stages and also in some houses used in TV shows and films. We got photos sat on the Friends sofa in the Central Perk set and since the last time we were there the set from The Big Bang Theory is also on display so we also got photos in Sheldon’s apartment (if you know the show, I sat in Sheldon’s spot :P ).

Have a good day all :D

Jo, sounds like you are having the time of your lives. Good on you.

In the late 70s we were on detachment to Bakersfield Meadows AFB just north of LA. The road outside was straight as a die for 6 or 7 miles. Just up that road was a 50s diner where the bikers met to do their stuff - Hell's Angels, Satans - you get the drift. However, the diner did the best ever Cal-Mex chilli and tacos you will ever eat, and it was for pennies (cents). We Brits, in our strange clothes and with our weird accents, were welcome to drool over their Harleys whilst they quizzed us about our Triumphs and Nortons.

I'd go back in a flash.
