Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 27 Feb 2025, 07:12

Good morning.

Sunny and 21°. 8-)

My usual walk first. :)

Going out for lunch with three friends that I used to work with. Really looking forward to catching up with them. :cute:

Jacob and Inma are on their second day in Dublin and really enjoying themselves. They fly back home tomorrow. :D

This day two years ago I was in France at Michele's celebrating her 60th birthday with her. It seems like yesterday. Happy birthday sis. :cute:

TV tonight. No doubt I'll be laughing out loud watching The Apprentice.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sunny but cool. Showers expected later - and for the next 10 days :o  :Hi: Only 17C for us.

I really must get that ironing out of the way

Off out to lunch here too, with Steve and Jacqui. We asked Rita, as she's on her own this week, but she's happy painting the new bathroom and generally enjoying her time alone.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello and good morning you two and everyone

Happy birthday to Michele Ally.... the time has flown! Enjoy your lunch - always lovely to catch up with friends if you haven't seen them in a while
Jan, you too enjoy the lunch. You're getting quite a bit of rain at the moment, is that more than usual or fairly normal amounts?

Well, not quite sure what today will bring for me.... I'm hoping to hear if I have an interview in London; if yes then I need to get myself there asap once I get notification - so it really just seems to be a case of hanging about until I find out either way which is quite restricting. But hey ho..... I'll admit it's really tough out there (a lot more than I thought it would be) and I'm struggling trying to line up interviews. And I'm not the only one - looking LinkedIn, there are loads of people in the same situation; ranging from senior management right down to first time jobbers. I had given myself until end Feb to focus on a full time role, so will start reaching out to agencies for temp work; I have to get out there and get something lined up.

Well enough of my moping.... the sun is shining, the chickens are happily scratching about and the cats are sleeping on the bed.... my life (despite the job situation) is better than that of many others.

Have a lovely day all x

March is normally quite dry Ria, but quite happy to get more rain. February is normally the wet month, but not had that much.

Morning all, and it’s a nice sunny one, although there was some frost overnight. I’ll take that over grey and rainy! We’ll do some dance practice this morning, and Kellie will be here this afternoon after school. Michael is also coming for his dinner. We had a nice time yesterday, collected my sister from her medical appointment, then went to Power City to get a new microwave as ours was 10 years old, the timer wasn’t working properly and the inside was getting all rusty. Then the three of us went off and had a very pleasant lunch, so no cooking was required later in the day. I did the bulk of the ironing when we got home, still a bit more to do so I’ll hopefully get that finished today. If I had been better prepared, I could have had bedding out on the line, but I wasn’t so I can’t :P Right, usual tidy around before we do some dancing.

Morning all :D

Dry at the moment, but windy.

Good luck with the job hunt Ria, signing on as a temp is often a good way to get started. I didn't go back to work until I was 53 and although I didn't think I was that old was advised to go the temp route and it worked. I was offered a job at Nationwide's head office on my 3rd assignment and stayed there until I retired. I don't think I would have got a look in applying direct, they usually preferred to stay in house.

Typical it stayed dry most of yesterday morning, but then started to tip down just as we were on our way out  Nothing planned for today, I've popped a casserole in the slow cooker and intend to be extremely lazy 8-)

Hope you all have a good day xx
