Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 26 Feb 2025, 07:25

Good morning.

Stunning sunrise and forecast 22°. 8-)

My usual walk first.

I had a WhatsApp from my hairdresser yesterday.
I have my usual monthly haircut booked for next Wednesday but Neila's sister is unwell so she wants to go to Colombia to visit her.
Rather than wait until her return I'll have a week early cut.

Conor's coming over to take us out for a beer and a bite to eat. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

The mist has now gone and it's a lovely, sunny but chilly morning 20C later, with showers over night.

Off to Ourique, for the normal supermarket run. Pit stop for coffee, back for breakfast.

I'm going to be making a curry for Saturday, so that can sit and fester in the fridge.

Meeting friends down at the bar later.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Ally JanB and anybody else who is up.

Still only 14C when I got up. We have had rain but the sun is now trying to come out.

Going to school this morning. I will be talking to children what it was like going to school during the war. This will be the third time I have been. I enjoy it
and the children seem to do. It is so different from their normal lessons.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all, it’s pouring down.

Got a hair cut booked this morning so it looks like I’ll have to get the bus. The salon is 3 miles away and I’d be soaked to the skin walking in this. I enjoy the walk as well and it’s such a faff on the bus as I have to get two there and two back.

Had to phone the council yesterday to get our garden waste bin emptied, it’s a service we have to pay extra for here so if I put it out I want it emptying. There were a couple of bunches of flowers in it and I’d picked up a load of leaves (not a clue where they’d come from!) over the last fortnight too. When I got back from Stafford I saw it had been moved but it hadn’t been emptied. I looked on the Ring camera and it showed the driver get out of the lorry, pull the bin over to the back of it, look in, decide it wasn’t worth his effort to put it on the little lift thing to empty it and then drag it back to where he’d got it from.
They were here to empty it at 6.30 this morning.

Have a good day all :)

Good morning Wednesday

Postby Weka » 26 Feb 2025, 10:39

Good evening everyone
To answer yesterday’s questions, Oliver is 25 and Sasha is now 15. S has been teaching for a year now and this is o’s first term. He plays guitar and S is piano. They only take absolute beginners as they themselves are only a few grades ahead. The parents of the students they have love the idea of someone close in age teaching them. The kids only charge $15 and local rates are $30 so parents are aware that they themselves are learning alongside their children. It’s a win win so far.

A 7am work start time is normal for me but not normal for NZ, normal is around 8:30am. I support a lot of customers in the US so they get sleepy me at 2 in their afternoon lol.

Oh so much has happened today.
The cat (that’s a story in itself for another day) got 5 teeth pulled today
S got hearing aids today, another story for another day
S went on an art school trip
And I’ve worked far more hours today than I should have.

Anyway that’s enough of today. Time for dreamland and o hope you all have a lovely day and find some warmth and sunshine.
Everything happens for a reason

Morning all, sun and cloud here. Feeling a bit tired, had a nightmare about 12.30am, woke up screaming, I felt very strange afterwards and it took me a while to get back to sleep. Today I’ll be staying around the house, my sister is having a cardiac CT scan and was told not to drive herself, so a friend is bringing her this morning and I’ll collect her afterwards. I only live 20-25 minutes away depending on traffic, so once she texts me I’ll head off, probably around lunchtime or early afternoon. A good way for me to stay in and do some ironing. In a few minutes I’ll pop up to the post office to take out some money.

Hello and good morning all

Weka, hope you have a good nights sleep - your day sounds rather busy; and lots of news to be catching up by the sounds of it.
Ally, hope you had a lovely walk and enjoy the evening with Conor
Jan, your day always sounds back to front to me when you say you're doing loads and then only breakfast    Hope you got everything sorted
Cruiser, I think it's fascinating for the kids to hear first hand about experiences of the older generations; there is just no way they can compare / comprehend really because times and technology have moved on so much
Saundra, yay that the gasman was early and you can now relax and enjoy the rest of the day
Jo, that's just bizarre; why not just empty the bin. But good that the council reacted so quickly
Osc, hope you can have an afternoon snooze at some point and good luck for your sister; hope all goes well for her
Jen, good luck with your appointment

Well I've been to Sainsbury's to get some bits for a late lunch - Nadine is working a morning shift at a GP practice and then has a nail appointment at 4.30 this afternoon, said appointment is 5 mins walk from my house. So rather than driving all the way home she'll hang around here after work so we'll have lunch together. I was going to just buy a quiche but they really don't look nice when they're cold and shrivelled up in their box, so I'm going to make my own instead.

Have a lovely day all x
