Ata Mārie Friday

(Good Morning Friday)

Looks like it’s going to be another lovely hot humid day here. It hasn’t ramped up yet, but I’m waiting for it. I‘ve gloriously taken the day off work today which gives me a long weekend and I intend to get outside and enjoy some of the sunshine. Going to have lunch with G. He has been offered a job so it looks like he will start work in a few weeks. He’s been out of work since Christmas when his last contract needed. The job market here is very very dead at the moment so this coming up has been quite good and it’s given him a long summer holiday. So nice to get the “round-to-it” list shortened too.

Sleep tight and see you in your Friday

Bom dia Weka and everyone

Still dark, but supposed to be 19C later. Wet stuff this afternoon and tonight.

I'm better off upright, so have got up a little earlier than normal. Still hacking away for England and Portugal

Best of luck to G xx
Will do a little - and I mean a little - cleaning later. Might get some washing done before it rains. I keep looking at the ironing too. But that's as far as I've got this week

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hi Weka.

Good luck to G with the new job, and to you all, snakes included. I like snakes.

We (England) have a NZ ODI and T20 tour coming up in October and November and I was tempted, but you Kiwis sure know how to price things, so maybe not.

I'll wait till you next come to Headingley. It's always a good craic (Irish/English) in the local hotels / bars. And we need revenge. ;)

Where's Ally?

Oh, sunning herself at 21 °C- again. :P

Miserable here. Persisted it down all night and now just grey and damp. Sick of it.

Washing on and I might do a cookathon. I got some 'minute' steaks the olther day and they are as tough as old boots. Beef stew anyone?

Good morning everybody.

Itis getting warmer. It was 14C when i got up. There is a strong wind with lots of grey clouds but no rain yet.

I am going to Preston for lunch. It is with the Pensiners club of the firm I used to work for.
I have spent thelast half hour trying to find a folder whichhas some photos in. I have searched everywhere but no luck. The folder is easy to see as it was supplied
by the shop when I hadthem printed. I am getting forgetful in myold age. I can get copies sent to me so I can have them printed again.

Have a good day everybody.

Hello all and good morning - and a good evening to you Weka; lovely to see you again!

Best of luck to G for the new job; I feel his pain with the job hunting. Glad you're able to have some time together and tick off a few things on that to-do list
Jan, take it easy and maybe try do some good old fashioned steam inhaling to help clear the cough? Ironing can wait ;-)
Frank, have a good day whatever you're up to
Cruiser, have a lovely time at the lunch. As for those photo's, you know the moment you have them reprinted, you'll find the folder with the original ones :D :D :D

Not sure what today will bring for me.... the usual computer stuff in the morning, sorting cats and chickens and then probably meeting up with Nadine and Thomas and do a round of bowling. McLaren (as in the F1 team), are based here in Woking and they have one of their F1 cars out on display and Thomas would like to see it - the family are all HUGE F1 fans. Not sure how I'll get there though as three of the four routes into Woking are closed for various reasons and the one remaining is a 24/7 gridlock. But hey ho - I'll figure it out LOL

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s grey, wet and stormy. Mild though.

The Tesco delivery is due later this morning and DPD are also delivering a bottle of perfume from Lush. I need a new bottle but can’t find the time to get into Birmingham before we go away. DHL are also coming to pick up a HUGE parcel for Joe, his usual Friday collection for work but much, much bigger than what is normally collected. So big that there are wheels on the packing case

Tonight we finally get to use the Peter Kay tickets we bought back in November 2022. Need to double check which arena it is, pretty sure it’s the NEC but both Birmingham arenas have had so many name changes over the last few years and I always call them the NEC and the NIA (as do many others).

Lovely to see you Weka, you’re missed! Good luck to G!

I have news too which needs it’s own thread :Hi:

Have a good day all :D

Morning all, it’s pretty damp here but outside temperature is creeping up, 12c today. Mobility class this morning, my car buddy D is back from visiting her first grandchild in London, the little girl was born the week before last. I think we are going dancing tonight. The golf course is currently closed so Edward will be home, which is good as we are expecting something to be delivered by Fastway - they are not always the best, last time I redirected a parcel with them, they just left it on the doorstep and luckily Miss Osc saw it when she was driving by the following morning. We are supposed to be going dancing this evening.

Morning all :D

Cold and windy

Usual Friday wash day, we slept in so the first load hasn't been in for long, just as well we weren't planning to go anywhere.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon.
We have been to do the shopping.
I got sirloin confused with silverside so the beef joint for Sunday came to more than I expected.
Grey here but much warmer than of late. 15c!
MrsC is off baby wrangling so I'll see what's on the box.
Have a good day everyone.
