Good morning Ally.
-1c here, the sun is on it's way though.
just dropped MrsC off at our daughters. When we stopped at the shop en route to get the paper one bloke walked past her, and he smelled strongly of cannabis. This is 7.30am. Three times recently driving around the village the smell has been so strong it's come into the car.
I'm waiting for the Rington's Tea man to turn up in his van and then it's off to to do some shopping.
Have a lovely day everyone.

ps - A good win for Jo's lot last night.

Good morning Aly and Cromwell.

It was 13C when I got up. No rain and the frost has gone. I hadput the cover on the windsceen last night but it wasnot neded.

Am going to Chorley again. When I went on Tueaday, went a different route on two buses. The normal route for one bus had been closed due to
a ploce incident.

When I get back home I will put the washing on.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning everyone

Another cold morning, but the sun is out.

Some-one is out in the big field next to us with a chain saw. Probably Heldar (farmer, not builder) has run out of logs

Off to Ourique this morning, for a committee meeting. No idea how long I'll be.

Dominic is coming up this morning, to remove both satellite dishes. Steve has a hospital appointment, so can't be here to make sure the starlink dish and pole is put up in the right place. So that's a job for another day.

Back to sit in the sun and read.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello all and good morning

Ally, enjoy the lunch with the friends, and as always have a fab Friday tapas and beers
Crommers, I'm curious... what or who is the Rington's Tea man?
Cruiser, hope you get what you want in Chorley
Jan, hope the committee meeting isn't too tedious and good luck with the removal of the dishes. Enjoy the sun and reading later!

A on the go type of day for me today... the usual quick check on emails / job market and send off CV etc; then need to leave at 1pm for a 3pm job interview in London. I really need to put pen to paper and my thinking cap on about what I want / am willing to compromise on / definitely don't want etc. The interview today is for a role that has working hours of 8am - 5pm, five days in the office. Generally really not a problem, but the because of the post covid revised train time table, that was never put back to what it was now that people are commuting back as much as they did pre-covid, means I'd have to leave home 6.20am and only get home at 7pm. It would be an hour more that I'd have done pre-covid which in the greater scheme of things isn't much, but it's a very precious hour to have at home. Another job I'm interviewing for has much better hours, good location etc, four days in office one day working from home, but the salary is a lot lower and they don't provide medical / dental health insurance as a benefit so I need to have that covered out of my own pocket.

So much to think about :-( I just want to win the lottery so I can do some volunteer work somewhere

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, another nice day here and it feels a bit milder. I’m going to mobility class this morning and Edward is going to play golf. We will probably go dancing tonight. At some stage I’ll pop up to the post office to take out money.

Jo, Edward couldn’t believe how badly they played last night and still won!

Ria, the Ringtons tea man comes round in his little black and gold van, delivering tea to your door. £2.20 a packet of teabags.
Good luck with the interviews.

Morning all, it’s a dull one but not too cold.

The first load of washing is on the line, Joe’s got today off so has gone to the gym and will then run so I’m waiting for him to get back so that his gym clothes can go in the next wash.
Just waiting for the Tesco delivery, it’s one stop away.

The M6 was a nightmare again last night. We left at 5 and got into the stand just as they were kicking off at 8, and coming back wasn’t much better as it was completely closed for roadworks for a short stretch at junction 15 so everyone had to get off at the exit at 15, go around a roundabout and then back down the slip road. Good job we won, by some miracle, after all of that. Osc, neither could we! Quite a few had already left by us because it didn’t look like we were going to get anything from the game.

Ria, there’s a lot to think about there! The commute doesn’t sound ideal after you’ve been used to working from home :?

Crommers, my Mom sometimes used to get Rington’s Tea delivered, it’s so good!

Have a good day all :)

Morning all :D

Dull and grey

Just heard from Oz, my sister Sue will be here with us for a few days early September, it will be so nice to see her.

No surprise we both slept like logs last night  I definitely under estimated how much walking and standing there would be, but absolutely no regrets, I'm so glad we did it and we had a great time. Just as well we're not going anywhere today, not sure my legs would carry me far lol Usual Friday wash day, only three loads so not too strenuous.

Hope you all have a good day xx
