Good Morning Tuesday

Postby JanB » 14 Jan 2025, 05:45

Morning everyone

Cold and dark, but no frost yet, that I can see. Not that warm later, either. Only 15C today. We're in for a few cold nights and days.

Up rather early, couldn't sleep, then we got dive bombed by a mozz, so went into the other bedroom and twiddled my thumbs for half an hour, then decided I might as well just get up.

Got a few things to do this morning, sort out transport for next week, do the ironing and prep and marinade chicken breasts for tomorrow.

Off to Ourique this afternoon, to get new tyres put on the Honda and we'll probably have a pit-stop at the bar on the way back.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

It's a city of extremes Ally. it is the hottest in the country, normally, in the summer and the coldest, almost, at night.

Thick frost over the back fields, nothing in front of me

Hello you three and everyone - good morning

Stay warm Jan - 15 degrees really isn't warm when you don't have central heating!
Enjoy the lunch Ally
Cruiser, the cheese stand sounds amazing! Have a lovely day in Chorley

I'm housebound today - dropped my car off for it's annual service and MOT this morning; I'm dreading the bill :D I've already been advised that the front two tyres will need replacing soon, they're still OK for the MOT but reaching legal limit; so those will be sorted this or next week as well. But I can't be without my car so it needs to be safe. The usual mix of tidy, pootle and admin / job hunting etc today.

But in the meantime I am getting very frustrated with my ears; they've been blocked for over a week now (fluid build up behind the ear drum). It started with the right one early last week and then the left one blocked up end of last week; and nothing I've tried or done so far seems to be clearing them. I've used decongestants, am using two different nose sprays, am about to finish a five day course of antibiotics, have been steam inhaling etc... and I just can't think of anything else to try. But it's really starting to annoy me - at night I have this constant thump thump in my ears from my heartbeat and throughout the day it's a whistling whine sound... so clever people, if you can think of something else I can try please say so ;-)

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s quite dull here but the outside temperature is up to 11 degrees, so not too cold. I’m expecting the postman to deliver a parcel today, no sign of him yet although he was here at 10.30 yesterday. There is ironing to be done, might as well get it done, I’ll listen to a podcast while doing it. Last night we booked this day trip for our holiday in Stresa in September http://www.stresatravel.com/zermattmatterhorn.html , very excited about it. The other one we want to do is not available for booking yet.

RIA, take the RNID hearing test: https://rnid.org.uk/information-and-sup ... ing-check/

The results are instant and sent by email. There is a form letter for you to take / send to your GP who can then get you access to an NHS hearing specialist who can provide further treatment via ENT.

I had a similar problem to you and it was discovered that I had a partially collapsed Eustachian tube. It is a quicker route than going to a GP, waiting for an NHS test, waiting for the results then seeing the GP again for an ENT referral.

Good luck. Partial hearing loss can cause big problems if not sorted.

Morning all :D

Sunshine 8-)

Osc that day trip looks lovely.

Ria good advice from WM, you can also get free hearing tests at some opticians, Boots, Specsavers etc.

Still not completely back to normal, but feeling heaps better thank goodness, Really looking forward to our adventure tomorrow. It's costing a bomb, trains, hotel and the tickets weren't cheap, but I'm sure it will be well worth it.

Hope you all have a good day xx
