Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 13 Jan 2025, 06:28

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 21°. 8-)

I'll get my walk done first. :)

Food shopping after a shower.

It's Moz's funeral today in Northampton.
Michele and Mark drove and got the ferry on Friday. Sis was sending me photos of the journey which was horrendous. Heavy snow through Northern France but they made their ferry connection by the skin of their teeth.

I had planned to fly over Saturday just gone and spend four days with them in their airbnb but just before I booked my flights the UK weather reports were coming in for some very dodgy looking conditions and I didn't fancy getting stuck over there. :?

Another factor was there seems to be so many flu and lurgy cases around. :?
I'm having surgery in February and didn't want to expose myself to anything that might jeopardise it so decided against the trip.

Mark has sent me a link and I can watch the funeral online.
It's at 1.15 (2.15 for me) so I'll get a candle ready and pay my respects that way.

TV tonight.

Have a great day.

(Sorry for the lengthy post.) xx

Good morning Ally and anybody elsewho is up.

It was 11C when I got up. No rain. There are still small pil;esof snow where people have movedit off paths and drives.

Back to my normal routine. Got paperwhenI first got up. Have had my breakfast. Am aiting for a phone call from my doctor. They may want to alter
my prescriptions.

I wll then go to the chemist to pck up another container for the test strips and needles I use when I test my blood. I need a new one about every three months.

Ally, you have made a good deceision staying in Spain. The hospitals are overflowing with patients on trolleys in coridors.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning both, morning everyone

Frosty but sunny start to the morning in my lovely part of Portugal and 6C outside. "Warming" up to 17C later 8-)

Surgery Ally? Hope it's nothing nasty xx Also hope you sail through it xx Be a tough ole bird, like me ;)

I've put our pillows out in the cold, as something has been munching my face and shoulders. Will get some new one's soon.

Wash day and that's about it.

I had planned on doing a dry couple of months, but I think, after yesterday, a quick trip to the bar for a few beers might be in order

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello all and good morning

Ally, thinking of Mark, Michelle and the family; I hope today goes as well as these things can. Sorry you weren't able to make it, but you definitely made the right decision. As Cruiser says; the hospitals are really struggling with so many flu /norovirus admissions - it's quite bad in nearly all parts of the UK and it's just not worth risking anything. When in Feb is surgery happening?
Cruiser, hope you GP calls soon and you don't have to wait all day. Good luck with the prescriptions
Jan, 6 degrees is nippy. I take it the party yesterday was a good one? :D :D :D :D As for the pillows, I bought some allergy covers for mine; they've made the world of difference

Well, a busy'ish day for me. The usual pootle this morning, then need to pop to Wickes to pick up something I've ordered for a friend, the usual Sainsbury's run and then clear out the car - it's off for it's annual service and MOT tomorrow and the boot is full of all sorts of stuff and then heading into London later this afternoon to go past the office to pick up post and meet up with a friend for a quick drink before coming back home.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s dull and damp here but the outside temperature is 11 which is good. Edward has gone to play golf for the first time since before Christmas. I’m off to mobility class in a while, then back to deal with laundry and stuff. I’m expecting a delivery of a Boots order, the postman thought he might be here before I go out but if not, he’ll leave it in the nail bar. I need to chase up another packet, the book I get every month, the tracker shows it in the sorting office this day last week but nothing since then. Right, general tidy around before I go out. Ally, surgery???

Morning all :D

Cold, but the frost was melting when we got up.

Ally, surgery?? Sensible to stay in Spain, our hospitals are overrun at the moment.
Cruiser wrap up warm.
Jan a trip to the bar sounds ideal.
Ria busy day for you.
Osc hope your deliveries arrive okay.

I'm feeling a lot better, no more snots and sore throat, but I still have a background headache. Seems to go off a bit with paracetamol so dosing myself up. Need to go out today so will pop my ear muffs on and wrap up nice and warm.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon.

The snow and ice is thawing now, hooray

We have walked Ellie's dog and MrsC was up there at 7.30 am helping to get Eliza ready for school and giving Ethan his bottle.
In a while we will return Dobby and then start preparing the evening meal.
We may need a few bits from the shop.

There certainly is Ally. My son has a chest infection and last time Jo posted she wasn't well with it. Eddie says the world and his dog have got flu round here.

Have a good day everyone.
