Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 06 Jan 2025, 08:46

Good morning.

It's a holiday here so after my walk I'll have a lovely quiet day at home with Don. :cute:

We've got roast chicken for dinner and lemon cheesecake for dessert. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally :) Morning all :)

Enjoy your quiet day with Don, Ally :D xxx

Glad you're taking it easy, Jan xx

We've had a great weekend with.my sister and brother-in-law, including a fabulous meal out yesterday at Greek On The Docks, but it will be nice to get back to normal after a very busy Christmas and New Year. The decorations and trees came down last night after J and P left. I really need to get back to healthy eating as well   xx

Daisy is having a dental procedure today, bless her, so Mick is dropping Becky off at the vets with her. They'll be putting her under, so she will be there all day. She's had anaesthetic before, as she's been spayed, but you can't help worrying a bit, can you?

I'm going into town later to meet Emma, Becky has an eye test so will join us at some point. I really must book an eye test myself, as I've had several reminders

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning everybody. Only 11C when I got up. Had some snow but it was raining. Had to brush the snow off the window of the car before i went for the paper.

Not goingout again today. Most people will be going back to work for the first time since Christmas. The schools near here should be open so again lots of traffic.

Will find lots to do.

Have a good day everybody.

Hello all and good morning

Happy Three Kings Ally - enjoy your quiet day at home
Jan, hope you manage to get your hands on more books sometime soon. But remind me (because I know I've asked before but can't remember the answer  ) why don't you get a kindle? I know it's not the same as paging through a proper book, but then you'd have unlimited choice of books, regardless of where you are ;-)
Kaz, your weekend sounds great. Fingers crossed for Daisy - and agree, it's always a worry.
Cruiser, I need to check if schools here are back today or tomorrow; but agree - roads will be busy again; and we still have sooooo many road closures. Enjoy the day at home and stay warm
Vic, good luck with the shopping and enjoy your day

Well, it's a truly miserable day here today, wet and windy and the ground is so saturated it's just muddy everywhere! I urgently need to repair the roof of the enclosed chicken run as the Perspex roof has a few holes so the rain is coming in in some places, but I will wait for better weather for that LOL. The usual Sainsbury's run for me and then dropping off a TV at a friends, but that's about it, and I'll be happy to not have to go out more than that ;-)

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s a bright sunny one here after yesterday’s relentless rain, no frost either. Other parts of the country are still pretty much snowed in with some schools closed. I’m meeting some ladies in town for lunch, we all went to school together. One of my particular friends who lives quite near me is not very mobile so her husband is supposed to be driving us. Mind you, she is quite likely to have talked herself out of it so we’ll see. My Boston friend is going into town earlier and will meet us at the restaurant, the three of us will get a taxi home. The golf course is closed, Edward is quite happy about that, he is feeling much better except for a lingering heavy cold. Right, better do a general tidy around, then put on some makeup.

Basically because I don't want one.

Just spent half an hour on the phone, waiting and waiting to book transport for Grumpy's op. No-one seems to be there this morning

Morning all :D

Wet and cold

Much as I'd like to stay indoors today, we need to venture out. We ordered some replacement candle type bulbs for our lounge/dining room light fittings from City Electrics back on 16th December and they've only just rung to say they're ready for collection. Also need to pop into our surgery to get a form requesting a letter from my GP saying I'm competent to drive. I'll need it for Barbados and last time we went I remember being told it can take about 8 weeks. I've pre-booked a car and taking a letter with me will save time when we get there. The hire car regulations over there insist on it when you're between 75-80yrs old. While I'm there I'll ask the best way to get my medical records corrected, letter, e-mail?? At the moment my current medication includes things I haven't taken for over 5 years and in one case a medication I've never been on!!

No other plans, we definitely won't be getting the outside decs down in this rain

Hope you all have a good day xx
