Good Morning Saturday

Postby JoM » 28 Dec 2024, 08:45

Good morning from Norwich!

We’re here for a family reunion which was yesterday.
John and Theresa had lost touch with a lot of family down here, there are only cousins left now, but after mother in law died they got in touch with a few of them and a WhatsApp group was created which grew and grew so it was planned to see a couple of them when me and John came down for our usual Christmas Day out. Theresa and Mike decided to join us and Tom came too. Long story short, there were eight Conneely cousins (no one can agree on how that’s spelled), their husbands and wives and a few adult children in a city centre pub for five hours yesterday and it was lovely! There were four I’d met before, two forty years ago and another two when Joe was a baby so 24 years ago. Plans are being made to do it again in the Summer with more cousins hoping to come. It was lovely to see Tom chatting and exchanging numbers with the adult children.
Off to meet Theresa and Mike for breakfast shortly, then off to the cemetery to take mother and father in law some flowers and then home.

Hope everyone is okay, have a good day all :)

Good morning.

Sunny and gorgeous blue sky. 8-)

The shorts and t shirt were back on for my morning walk.

I didn't bring much washing back as I did it all at Craig's  but the few bits I did plus what was in the laundry basket are now out on the line. :D

I'm going to enjoy a lovely day at home with hubby. ;)

Out tonight for drinks and a Thai meal. :x

Have a great day.

Hello and good morning everyone

Jo, that sounds just so amazing.... I have so many cousins and am only in touch with less than a handful, and I am sorry that it is that way. I need to speak to my siblings and see what their thoughts are to a cousin get together, it would be lovely to arrange something.
Jan, enjoy your day doing not much and have fun meeting people at the bar
Ally, definitely NOT short and t-shirt weather here
Kaz, your post made me giggle ;) Hope you had a lovely breakfast meet up

A very dull, damp, grey and cold start to the day and not expected to improve much. Nadine and I will be meeting up later today and heading to Reading to do some shopping; the rest of the family are heading to Twickenham to watch some rugby. Rather them than me, given the weather; it'll be sooooooo cold.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s quite a bright one here. I feel as if I have a dose of something coming on, hopefully it might shove off. Miss Osc and family are due back from Liverpool this evening, SIL spent yesterday in bed but did go out for dinner with them. We are going over to their house today - we gave Michael a surround for his dartboard for Christmas and there was no time to put it up before they went away. At the moment the dartboard is in a cabinet which will need to be taken down. I suspect SIL won’t feel like doing it tomorrow so we thought Edward could see if he can do it and if he can, it would be a nice surprise for Michael and maybe a relief for SIL. They are doing a tour of Anfield stadium today at 1pm so I reckon they will be on the Ryanair flight due in about 20.30, the later one isn’t due until 23.00.

Jo, that sounds like a great gathering! Ria, I don’t think rugby people feel the cold.

Morning all :)

Dull and overcast

More washing on the go, sheets and towels today. Popping out to the small Tesco in the next hour or so, we don't need much, just bananas and fresh veg. Easy peasy food for the next few days, ham and eggs for dinner this evening.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good morning or it may be afternoon before I post.

It was only 14C when I got up. It was misty and damp. The sun is trying to come out but not being very sucessful.
There was a man on the bus in shorts. It made me feel cold just looking at him.
Went out early to Chorley. I wanted meat piesfrom one of the stalls. My sonis coming today and he will take them back to Kent with him.

I have lots of cousins. One lives about five miles away. The rest are miles away. One near Wrexham, one in Belfast, One in Wilmslow, Two emigrated to Canada,.
There are othets as my mother had several brothers and sisters and I only met some of the cousins once,

Have a good day everybody.

Good afternoon.
Sunny and misty here, a bit chilly too.
We have been to get Pat's newspaper and gone to the butchers. We just need a couple of bits from the supermarket.
Hopefully it will have been re-stocked by now, the last time we were in it looked like it had been looted by the Red Army.
Have a good day all.
