Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 13 Dec 2024, 07:23

Good morning.

Forecast mostly sunny.

My walk first. :)

Back to change then have my haircut at 12.30.
It's only been three weeks since my last one but as I'm away next week I'm having a top up.

Conor's coming over late afternoon and joining us for Friday beers and tapas tonight.
He's staying over and bringing bacon for tomorrow's breakfast.

Have a great day.

Good morning Ally and anybody elsewho is up.

Only 14C when I got up. It is still dark but itlooks as if there are grey clouds.

No problems with my eyes. I still do not need glasses for reading or driving. Like I said to the optician, I only charge £25.00 for my secret.

Going to Chorley this morning. I will get cheese and meat. Also have my lunch in one of the many cafes.

Am also going to order my repeat prescription. Have just sen it on the news that this is the last day to order for delivery before Christmas.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all :)

Best to get it sorted Ally ;) :D xx

Just about getting light here, Cruiser. I hate these dark mornings :o xx

Up early as it's Friday, and my SW meeting. Out with.Mick afterwards as Em's not around - she's travelling home from NY today. We'll go to see D later.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Hello you three and everyone - good morning :)

Ally, what are you temps like at the moment? Enjoy the walk, haircut and esp the tapas evening. Oh and definitely the bacon tomorrow morning!
Cruiser, that is very impressive - given the cost of glasses these days I'll admit that I'm rather very jealous of you. Enjoy the morning and lunch in Chorley.
Kaz, agree, I'm not fond of the dark mornings either; esp when it's just grim outside on top of dark.

I was up early today, wanted to get to Sainsbury's as they opened to get the shopping out the way; so that is one thing ticked off the list. Heading into town a bit later, I need to be at M&S for 2pm; but that's about all that is planned for today. Oh, and possibly meeting up with a friend this evening. I've left it to her to decide if we're meeting up this evening, tomorrow for brunch or tomorrow evening. So in between now and the 2pm and then the possible dinner it'll be a matter of pootling and probably not achieving very much

Have a lovely day all and stay warm! x

Morning all, it’s dull and still a bit drizzly. The drizzle didn’t let up at all yesterday, such a miserable day.

I’m waiting for the Tesco delivery, it’s due between 11 and 12 but is often early. I’m also waiting for Royal Mail too, I had a notification that they were delivering a parcel today and the van pulled up opposite a short while ago, the postman got out and took a load of parcels out of the back and put them on the front seat and then drove off again. It’s not like we’re on a through road where he’d randomly stop on his way elsewhere.

Joe’s working from home today, he’s in a meeting at the moment so I’m being quiet. The hoovering was done earlier anyway, and I’ve steam mopped the kitchen floor. He’s off for a run after work and then he’s going into Stafford to get his hair cut.

The plan for this afternoon is to wrap presents, I can’t start yet as I need the Sellotape that’s on the Tesco delivery  I have some but it’s rubbish, it’s Sellotape brand but is the zero plastic one and it breaks off as you try to get it off the roll, I’ve been in a right sticky mess

Have a good day all :D

Morning all :)

Overcast and grey

Me and sellotape aren't friends Jo, I get in a right pickle with the normal one, goodness knows what would happen with the zero plastic one

We've had a nice lie in, no need to rush today. Usual bed change and washing. Will also make a start on the spare room ready for Hannah and the girls next weekend.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Morning all, I’m late on parade today, had an early start for a dental appointment at 9.50am. It all went well, I’ve managed to avoid infection in the gum although he said it showed signs of trauma. He took an X-ray, it was fine, he actually removed a tiny seed that was lodged between tooth and gum, and said that as it was the highest tooth of the four front ones, he would file it down a bit to reduce pressure on the gum which he did. I was supposed to go to my mobility class but my tummy had felt a bit dodgy during the night and I hadn’t slept well plus I was feeling cold so I decided to give it a miss. Went into the supermarket to buy a few bits and also managed to order a pair of trousers in a nearby boutique  Home now, got nice warm clothes on. I need to wrap presents for the Cork family as my sister is going there on Sunday and will bring them with her. I might clean the bathroom…….

Good afternoon.
A dismal grey day here again. I don't like the dark mornings either Kaz.
Yesterday we had arranged to go and see my brother in Selby. We were just about to set off and running a bit late when there was a knock on the door. It was my brother and his wife. he thought we had arranged for them to visit us, rather than the other way around! Good job we were late setting off. Anyway, it was lovely to see them again.
We've been to do the shop and dropped sister in law off in town.
I think that might be it for the day.
You're working too cheap there Cruiser! £100 minimum.
Have a good day everyone.

Honestly though Kaz! It made us laugh too. We have agreed to let our wives organise the next meet up!
